Rules & Info

• Welcome! This is an IC dream, devoted to balanced freeform roleplaying in a fantasy setting. The dream has a general tech-level of late renaissance, which includes flintlock weapons, cannons, and magically powered devices or vehicles as a few examples (ask the owner for specifics; anything too modern is disallowed). As a fantasy setting, sorcery is permissible within the limitations of freeform roleplay in Furcadia; in combat, magic preps are a must, the number needed depending on the level of power employed (see Combat rules for more detailed information).
  
  Dark Manor is the IC fortress of an ennobled mercenary, The Spider, and is the base of his mercenary group 'The Gray Wyverns'. A politically neutral confederacy of equals, each full associate will be able to draw upon pooled resources/skillsets for financing and completing a given endeavor; decisions which affect the Wyverns (such as accepting missions and negotiating with employers) will be handled by a majority vote. Spider himself will cast the deciding vote in the case of ties.
  
  The company allows - even encourages - membership in other guilds or kingdoms, but conflicts of interest and violent disputes between members will be strictly forbidden, IC. A condition of membership is to leave prejudice at the gate, and abstain from matters which could cause strife between Wyverns. Spider, a drow, doesn't exclude even such traditional racial enemies as dwarves or surface elves. This is the most important bylaw of the group; if violated, it will be dealt with harshly and decisively.
  
  More generally, this is a manned fortress, constantly in a state of increased alert. If the owner or a representative are not present for discussion, assume that any aggression will result in the immediate response of multiple, highly-trained defenders able to use magic, missile weapons, and tactical advantage to prevent an invasion or takeover (see Combat rules for more information). Discuss dream damage or changes (such as killing NPC guards) with the owner. ((NOTE: The foyer and throneroom are the only areas of the Manor publicly accessible to strangers, in-character. Feel free to use the Dream Commands for out-of-character exploration.))
  
  Seek the services of or trial membership (normally a seven day duration) in the Wyverns by approaching The Spider or Gala Chazov in character, and if you can't seem to catch us active in Furcadia, email darkmanor@hotmail.com to set up a time to roleplay.
