The continuity I'm working from is an alternative timeline of the Scarlet Gospels novel.

When Pinhead betrayed The Order of the Gash, the Abbott issued a writ that the traitor was to be hunted along with all perceived saboteurs that may have assisted him. This purge has left the Order decimated and a new directive has been issued: replenishment of the ranks.
