  Overview. . . || To wrap up Kjrn's personality in a few simple words: free-spirited, confident, determined, and possessing a few questionable morals. The viera is the type that cannot be tamed or held down by anyone or anything, roaming the world and doing as she pleases. She also has a knack for stealth and a way with words, along with a natural talent for thievery. To this end, the life of a sky pirate was perfect for her. Still, she settles into the role of merchant quite well nowadays, able to turn on the charm to sell a few gems or go stone-faced in business negotiations with the drop of a hat. Still, she is not a woman of excess emotion, much like the rest of the viera with their sometimes stiff mannerisms. Kjrn is also quite the loner at times, easily able to go long periods of time without interacting with people outside of business if she has to. Not so say she doesn't enjoy company totally; she is just very select in whose company she enjoys.
  
  Business-wise, Kjrn is very keen and clever with a flair for bargaining and selling, as well as a love of cultivating a network of associates. In terms of how she views slavery, Kjrn doesn't seem to mind it for the most part. While she is a lover of freedom, she also is a staunch believer that if you want freedom bad enough, you can attain it yourself. In fact, the more she sees, the more she is intrigued by the concept. Still, she doesn't have any particularly sadistic or cruel urges and isn't too fond of seeing someone's wrath taken out on their slave. Yet it would be a rare, rare occurrence indeed to see her step between a Master and his quarry, if only for the fact that she wouldn't dare alienating a potential customer and damaging her reputation amongst the slavers.

  Weaknesses. . . || Blind eye detracts from her accuracy sometimes, despite her progress in overcoming it. Obviously, a blind spot to her left side. Viera are also highly susceptible to exposure to magickal energy, or what they call the Mist. Sparing use of magick around her is fine. However, excessive or prolonged magick use near her (or especially on her) will make her feel as if the blood is boiling in her veins. She loses all control of herself and her mind, entering a berserk state. This state brings a significant surge in her stamina/pain threshhold and slight boosts to her strength. However, she has a complete disregard for her own safety as she hones in on getting at the source of the magick and/or anyone that gets in her way. After the berserk state wears off, she is left very weak and exhausted for a few hours to a day afterwards.

  OOC Note: Reading Kjrn's history is not mandatory before engaging in RP with her. I just decided to provide it in long form as a tool for myself as well as any others who might want to know a bit more about how Kjrn became the person she is now.

  Like most all viera, Kjrn was born in the Wood of Ivalice and lived there for much of her early life. However, unlike most of her kind, there was always something within her that yearned for something more than a life hidden in the forests. She felt as if she didn't quite belong anywhere in the strict world of the viera, bound to never step foot outside the forests by the law of the Wood -- the Green Word. As much as she tried to reason with her family, her friends, and even the village elder, her words were always lost on them.
  
  Feeling that she could perhaps remedy this, the viera tried to find a spot for herself. As was the tradition in her family, when she was of proper age and had passed her training and trials, Kjrn became a Wood Warder -- a guardian of the village of Iveri, the Wood, and all creatures within it. Yet still, the longing was not satisfied.
  
  As one of the newest Wood Warders, Kjrn was typically relegated to easier, simpler tasks. One such job was to guard a small group of sky pirates that the other Wood Warders had caught when they attempted to sneak into Iveri village and make off with a few extremely rare treasures of the viera. It was in this alone time with the prisoners that Kjrn first learned of the sky pirates and the freedom that the skies gave them. She listened with delight and intrigue to their stories. As if to prove their ultimate freedom to her one last time, the pirates managed to escape one night during a routine change of the guard. However, they were forced to leave without the treasures they sought, lucky to just escape with their lives.
  
  After that, the restlessness inside her was even more unbearable. Other viera would catch her slacking during her duties, straining to get a look at the sky through the thick canopies of the trees. Finally, after much debate, Kjrn had decided: she was to betray the Green Word and escape the Wood in order to gain her freedom. Using her status as a Wood Warder, Kjrn was easily able to snag the very same treasures that the sky pirates from before had been after and hurriedly escaped before anyone realized she was gone.
  
  For some time after her grand escape, Kjrn was overwhelmed. She had betrayed her kind and would thus be considered a traitor and a viera no longer. Day by day, she was losing the ability to hear the voice of nature -- something deeply disconcerting to most viera. Only after a very long period of biding her time and getting used to human ways did she decide to listen to the tips the locals gave her -- to head to the Arcadian capital of Archades.
  
  Even though it had been difficult, the traveling had indeed been worth the effort. There, she found eager buyers for the extremely rare viera treasures she had stolen in the researchers at Draklor Laboratories and the scholars of the Akademy, not to mention the very wealthy elite who nearly tripped over themselves to get their hands on such great status symbols.
  
  With a healthy share of coin in her pocket, she did the only thing she could think of doing: purchasing her own airship. After some searching, she managed to find and purchase a small four or five-person vessel, which she lovingly named the Peregrine for its sleek design and high speeds. After that, it only took a few more weeks to find some crew members, and thus her sky pirating days had begun.
  
  Almost thirteen years and an uncountable number of adventures later, Kjrn had made a bit of a name for herself in the skies of Ivalice. Especially amongst those who would wish to see her captured and jailed. The bounty already on her head was only lifted even higher after authorities in the land began to crack down on sky piracy, trying to wipe them out entirely. A number of their kind finally retired, including Kjrn, finding that her work was becoming much too risky for the sometimes meager rewards.
  
  With the remnants of her cache of treasures in tow, Kjrn decided that it was time to set up a more legal career — that of a merchant. She began with black market trades of her stolen goods, making a good deal of coin off of them and creating a number of connections and alliances in the process.
  
  Finally, with a good deal of capital at her disposal, Kjrn chose to go into the market of gems and jewelry. Her business in Ivalice was thriving, yet grew rather dull to the viera over time. Deciding she would strike out to new places beyond her homelands' borders, Kjrn visited a number of locations, including Guildereim. At the end of her travels, she eventually decided that she would return to the island and attempt to set up a strong clientele in the Tether's patrons, finding it to be not only a thriving business environment but an entirely new, exciting culture as well.
