Three Months Ago
Mila silently slipped through the crowd of teenagers that were dancing wildly to the loud, upbeat, party music. As she entered a hallway that was somewhat less crowded, she started to relax. It was way too crowded for her taste, but she had promised someone special she would come tonight. Suddenly a strong hand reached out and grabbed her arm, pulling her into a dark room and trapping her against the wall. Giggling as he looked down at her with his goofy grin, she poked his side, knowing how ticklish he was. "Hey! You aren't supposed to scare me half to death when you do that you know!" she teased, ducking underneath his arm and plopping down on the edge of the bed.
He just grinned at her and gave her a simple shrug, completely relaxed around her. "I thought it might be funny," he replied, moving to sit on his knees in front of her. Mila smiled and gently brushed her fingers through his short hair. Oh this was so forbidden. He was her brother's best friend, the star quarterback and she was his little distraction. For as long as she could remember, her brother and his best friend would terrorize her or pull pranks on her. But when she had returned from a summer of fun in Venice, Italy, everything changed. Her brother's best friend began secretly sneaking into her room and talking to her for hours every night. At first, she had completely shut him out, believing he was just trying to cause trouble. But now, they were secretly dating. Only hoping her brother wouldn't find out yet, until they were ready to tell him.
But right now, none of that mattered to Mila. She was here with him and she was perfectly happy. Leaning back into the bed as he started to make out with her, it turned into innocent kissing to hours of loving. Only when Mila woke up in the morning, still wrapped up in his arms and tangled in his sheets did she start to worry. Her parents were going to murder her. Kissing his head gently, she woke him and whispered that she would meet him at school before disappearing out his door.
Present
Mila shifted nervously from foot to foot. Waiting for him impatiently outside of the school doors. They had been suspecting for the past month she was, but now that she knew the answer, she wasn't sure how ready they were for this. How ready they were to be parents. Would he even still love her? Suspecting and knowing where two different things. And only now was she beginning to worry about this.
