This isn't on here, it's elsewhere. I am sorry if this is the wrong forum to ask this. If it is, forgive me! I am having trouble with this person and their... RP skills. I normally never berate anyone's skills, but they never listen. I gave them a chance and gave them my do's and don't's of what I RP. They don't listen. They proceed to force their RP on me when I clearly stated no.

They are a bit older than me and resort to childish actions such as "YOU DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!" and "YOU ARE NOT THE BOSS OF ME! *Insert some gross action*

What can I do about this? I do not want anything to do with them or EVEN RP with them.

Has anyone ever experience this? Pushy and rude Role players?
I have, and it's on another rp site, where the individual takes pleasure in killing ocs, then tell the rper can no longer use them, since the individual considers all rps on that site to be linked. The individual seems to have a megalomaniac mindset, so they think that their way is the only way. They will do anything to ruin rps, perma-kill ocs after tricking them to spar, and rule a rp comunity, even if it means DESTROYING it to do such.

I'm from the same site as Arc here, and boy, is he right. We never listen to him, of course. Yet, he still tries.

If you've tried multiple times to communicate your boundaries and needs, and they persist in ignoring you, sounds like it's time to stop RPing with this person guilt free!
I agree with Kim. If this guy is being as obnoxious as he is, then you have nothing to feel bad about cutting all ties with him, which I think you should do.

Thank you guys! I will tell them so. If they refuse to listen or play the pity game, I will block them as a last resort.

Good luck! I wish nothing but the best.

That's always the best thing to do when there's no other choice.
The worst part of the guy I'm talking about is that he would even GODMOD by insta-killing, controling other's ocs, nerf them, and the list goes on, plus even if you say you don't want him in a rp, he'll FORCE his way in, then do what he wants, anyways, He doesn't care if there's rules against it, he'll still do it, and if he doesn't fit in the rp universe, well, he doesn't care, and will still try to force his charaters in the rp, despite the protests of everyone else in the rp, anyways. He'll even try to force logic in rps that logic wouldn't work in, despite destroying the rp in the process, even if the rpers aren't skilled enough to use logic. I already blocked the individual on here, but on the other site, I can't block his messages.
I would take such actions a step further and communicate your grievances to the local moderators so that they can enforce the rules of the website, which, I hope, are at odds with this individual's actions. If this individual is a local moderator, or in their favor no matter what abuses he perpetuates, perhaps you ought to consider relocating in order to avoid frustration in the future.

Until the individual finds the new site you're on . . .

I totally understand your concern! It's very unlikely they'll 'survive' on RPR though. The community itself is very heavily geared towards the 'be nice even if you disagree with one another' mindset, which includes not being an ass in roleplays. The moment they try to pull that off, they're going to get blocked and refused to be played with. It will happen pretty consistently, and soon nobody will want to RP with them if they persist in being rude. I also strongly suggest blocking them immediately when you become aware of their account on RPR - don't talk to them, don't reply to their posts on the forums and just make it impossible for them to get in touch with you through the block (that also means they can't use anonymous characters!).

If they try to get around the ban by a) making a new account, b) getting friends to get in touch with you, c) bothering you on your own topics etc., just don't respond to them and report them to the moderators immediately. They will take care of this person and he will understand very quickly there's no place for that sort of behavior here. :)

RPR is a very nice place for these reasons. People are given plenty of chances to fix their behavior, but if they keep messing up they don't stay around for very long, so please don't worry about this.
I'm sure this has already been said before at some point but I just ignore them to the highest degree. xD I had an issue on another site where on one of my group rps I was running two or three people showed up and just started god nodding themselves to no end, doing everything and not taking a hit. Like you could do anything to cause them harm and they would dodge it or come up with something stupid to make it miss. Eventually it got to the point where I gave them a warning and they yelled at me so I just kicked them out, banned, and blacklisted them. Unfortunately not everyone cares about the other person there rping with and you just sort of have to tell those people to go away. xD

I'd say if there being rude then don't be afraid to tell them off, but if there just not listening or are just not understanding id just take my time and let them know that these rps are in no way interesting to me, but I'd thank them for the offer and time they put in. And then if they yell or scream or cry id just ignore them, block them, or if there is no block on this site your talking about just tell a mod (if there's a mod prescence.)

Indeed, I have experienced such despicable people like that in my days of role playing as well. And it's not just rude. It is also very insulting and unfair in your part especially when you even try to respect their rules in role play. If they won't listen to you, then why listen to them? Just what the golden rules say: "DON'T DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU DON'T WANT OTHERS TO DO UNTO YOU." And if they don't listen to what you say because they're older, then they must be very and ridiculously immature. You must respect other people's rules. privacy. limitations. A good and sensible role player is someone who is creative, who respects, others and who is always considerate. Not a person who thinks he/she is the boss of everything. That is too god-modding and people like that are complete hypocrites. Thus, in my opinion, people like them, which are annoying you right now, are not deserving to have your attention because they are not worth minding if they don't mind your decisions and accept them. So yeah. If they don't listen to your last warning, just block him/her just like what the others said awhile ago. You deserve to be free from their evil clutches. Good luck! :)

I would really like to caution against this becoming a public venting, especially with several of you talking about a single individual who knows who they are. We run the risk of crossing the line into harassment and bullying against someone who can't come forward to defend themselves without also risking acquiring the reputation that they have been accused of. This is flame war territory! Danger Will Robinson!

"Vague booking" feels good but creates more problems than it solves. A lot of useful advice has been given in this thread already. If there's an active problem, PLEASE contact a moderator about it, here or wherever you are having the issue. :)

If anyone reading this is concerned they may have problems with a member here, there's a LOT of things you can do:
  • RPR Groups can assign their own moderators, who have the power to hand out temporary or permanent bans to members who misbehave in their game. We have this guide on enforcing group rules that we recommend to all moderators of private groups/games on the site. :)
  • Of course, the public forums have the official site moderators, who respond to requests for help. :)
  • If you're playing with someone not on forums at all, but rather through private messages, you can also block them.
  • This might also be of some interest, a community discussion we had about god moding: http://www.rprepository.com/help/godmoding
  • And a piece on maintaining healthy RPs and managing drama: http://www.rprepository.com/help/drama

I can't say it enough times, really: The mod team is here to help! :)

Once again, I thank you everyone. I haven't said any names and they aren't on this site, which is good. They found the site too complicated for them for some reason. I have already blocked them from contact on Skype, dA and Tumblr.
Roleplay is a fun hobby that should be respected as such. To have someone be willing to play with you is a privilege, not a right. I don't think your partner seems to understand, or should I say, respect this fact. If they are unwilling to communicate with you in a mature and open-minded manner, then I think it honestly might be time to consider just removing them from your life before they start making you feel somewhat toxic towards a hobby that you enjoy. I know it's not pleasant to have to take such actions, but remember; after what they are doing to you, you're the victim here.

Wish you all the best, buddy. Chin up!

*Hugs*
