Forums » Help » Is there a way to make your profile users-only?

Just curious if there is a way. I have an ex 'friend' who has been stalking me for -3 years- on the net and being a huge... ahem. Well, anyway, she used my rpr to find my character name on GW2 and attempted to add me there. I blocked her, but it would be nice if I could hide some of my content from her. I mean, she would have to make an account here anyway, which I could block. I thought about simply changing my username, but I don't have the money right now and she could search for some of my characters that she knows.

I dunno... If anyone has any ideas on how I can keep my information from her on here that would be great. I am so tired of her abusive behavior.

There isn't a way to do that right now, I'm afraid. The only option I can think of is to change your username to something she wouldn't know about which isn't an option for you money wise, but even if you did RPR will still link your old name to your new one for 6 months before it's removed. The problem is also that the harassment takes place outside of RPR, making it as good as impossible for mods to step in and help.

It's a shitty situation, one I'm familiar with, but your best bet is to just pretend this person doesn't exist and block any attempts of contact. You might want to look into what the police can do for you in your area regarding internet harassment if it gets worse. Some areas have special policies on the matter.

I tried the police before, and basically they told me because she is no longer local (went into the military) that they can't do anything. I was told that I could contact her superior officer and she would get a psych eval, but because the military is so secretive there is no way for me to do that at all. I wonder if I asked the staff if there would be a way to forego the 6-month relink if I can get the money for the name change?

I've been pretending she doesn't exist all this time. So I suppose if I can't do anything I will just continue to do that. I've not responded to her in any way for the last 2 years so she is really persistent. lol

I have several friends (and a boyfriend) who are former military, army and navy both. I'll see if they have any info for you on how to get a hold of her superior officer. She was local to you, and you can probably identify her in other ways, so that should be helpful to you somewhere down the line.

As for the 6 month relink, only Kim can answer that!

That would be amazing. She likely needs an eval not only because of me- but could be hurting herself or others around her. If you can get any more info for me just pm me here.
