Ben would lean up from a night's slumber... the rain would pat at his head, the hole in the tent where he slept was getting larger. He would look up at the hole and wonder why he'd decided to put his head directly under it... then he remembered he'd been look at the stars and likely passed out.
Ben would lean up shirt less and slightly wet from the rain, but hey this was a good opportunity to take a shower, which he rarely got to do. He would dart out of his tent and strip down to nothing and run down the hill past his rice. They were growing well thanks to the rain, money would come in this week. He would get down to this large elm tree that he'd carved a hole in that allowed water to come out like a waterfall and he used a bit of soap that he'd purchased literally YEARS ago. Ben wasn't known for smelling great, but since the great drought no one smelled particularly good. If people had to choose between drinking water and bathing, it was always to drink the water. Luckily he'd put up the buckets a couple days ago, after cleaning out the bugs, webs, and dust of course. They were likely full, it was pouring from the sky this morning. Ben would wash as fast as he could so he could get back to wash his clothes. He hadn't done that in even longer... this didn't bother Ben, but he was determined to at least get it started.
District 12 was the equivalent of a dirt farm with no rain. There was no work, and the only way you could make money was hunting, farming, and cleaning. Ben was terrible at hunting and cleaning. Ben could grow a banana tree on The Sun, if given the chance. Ben had found "Blood Rice" when he was young and stuck to that. Ben knew life was always going to be this way, so he just planned it that way.
The rain would carry on through the day, Ben would clean his clothes as best he could, though if the rain didn't stop it would likely be hard to dry his clothes...
