Gabriel lay sprawled across half the bed, his dark gaze locked on the ceiling and his thoughts turned inward. On some level, he heard his phone alarm going off, but he ignored the irritating buzzer intent on driving him from slumber’s sweet embrace. Didn’t much matter when he wasn’t asleep to begin with, his mind far more alert than his dull, zombielike stare insinuated. He just couldn’t seem to find the motivation to move, much less drag his lazy carcass out of bed and trudge across the room to wash away the remaining tendrils of fading dreams.

“Shall I call someone about exterminating the zombies infesting my house or are you two going to at least pretend some sense of normality this morning?”

Gabby slid a sideways glance at the bedroom door, his uncle’s large frame little more than a fuzzy blur. “Depends on whose definition of normality you’re referring to – yours or dad’s,” he countered, shifting enough to search for a suitable projectile on the headboard. His long fingers wrapping around something silky. soft and plush, he chunked the unidentified object at the offensive soul intruding upon his numb peace. Only then did he realize he’d snagged one of Allen’s prized stuffed animals, by then the furry stuffed kitten pinging off their uncle’s arm. “For the record, this is dad’s house.”

“Ah-huh. Start showing some semblance of life or I’ll send dad up here to deal with you two,” Auron warned, glancing at the stuffed animal Gabby chunked his way. He knew karma would catch up with his oldest nephew rather quickly, Allen unlikely to let his brother’s unforgivable crime go unpunished for long. That’d probably drive Gabby out of bed and into the shower, but a little added incentive never hurt. “Vincent’s fixing breakfast tacos…”

Sure enough, that had Gabby’s full attention, his eyes suddenly bright and alert as he bolted upright from his prone position. An elegant brow arched when the teen swore he caught the faint aroma of the promised delicacy – his father’s legendary, divine, irresistible breakfast tacos. Dang his father! The man did that deliberately, knowing full well Gabby couldn’t resist temptation, not when his favorite food was the prize. The price – he had no excuse for not going school shopping, the one thing he really didn’t want to do even if his father and uncle insisted they needed to get it out of the way. Oh well, he’d happily suffer the horrid torture if he had breakfast tacos fueling his energy – but first, bathroom, shower, teeth, face and hair!

Call it a cruse, Allen sure did. Whenever his twin would wake up he had little choice but to wake up himself, this was the same if Allen were trying to sleep with his brother awake. Allen would not have minded if not for this one frustrating habit, once his blue eyes opened to the world there was no going back. There was no turning to his other side and resuming such blissful slumber. Still, he heard his brothers phone way before Gabby had actually woken up, which meant one thing. A new day, and they had to get up or face the wrath of their father and uncle. Allen stuffed his face against his pillow.

He peeked at his older twin and uncle only to see his prized little kitty flying through the air. Mister Mittens, with his slick fur, black strips and gray little body and the cutest pink nose did not deserve such abuse! He was not going to condone to the abuse of any stuffed animal! For those creatures that come in all shapes, sizes, and colors there was something very vital that they lacked; a voice. Therefore Allen had taken upon him to be the voice for the soft little creatures that his brother had abused.

Sadly, there words did very little to distract the blonde twin, whom of which was sliding his pillow out from under his head.

With pillow in hand, Allen, without hesitation, stuffed the blue and white pillow in his twins face. Of course he would not hit him with his pillow, after all he was a pacifistic soul. Violence was not alright in his eyes. Never was and never will be. Once he was certain that Gabby was stunned enoguh by his secret pillow attack he started packing his twin in with pillows, Gabby's stuffed animals and blankets, once finished he hopped out of bed. Stopping for a second to admire his hard work before quickly sprinting off to the closest bathroom.

Technically the bathroom he had ran into was his twins, did he care at the moment? No! He abused Mister.Mittens! This crime would have to dealt with accordingly. He looked around, he was not sure if his shower stuff was still hidden in here or if Gabby had found it. Just as he went to check he remembered to lock the bathroom door before promptly going to the shower. His punishment had been decided, he would use Gabby's products, take a shorter shower and devour all the tacos he could before Gabby could get out. Good thing he and his brother were wore close to the same size as Gabby's clothes did lie out on the counter top. This plan was a brilliant one!

"BWAHAHAAHAHAH!"Allen could be heard from the bathroom as he readied his shower.

From time to time, the telepathic link Gabby shared with Allen provided him with fair warning when his brother intended evil. This wasn’t such an instance, Allen’s sudden attack catching the older twin completely off guard, leaving him to stare helplessly as his brother imprisoned him in pillows, blankets and stuffed animals. Visibly stunned, he sat in mute silence, staring at his soft prison walls and, finally, turning to Allen. In that damning instant, he realized just what his other half intended, Allen’s true revenge slamming into Gabby with brutal clarity. The worst part? He couldn’t move fast enough, his brother burying him under so much crap he struggled to break free. By the time he did, Allen was already in Gabby’s bathroom, the door locked and Gabby left out in the cold.

It was Allen’s version of evil laughter, which was nothing short of perfectly adorable, that wiped the scowl from Gabby’s lips, a smile soon teasing the corners of his mouth. Hey, Allen? You do realize we have four bathrooms and two half baths. I’ll just use yours…and mark my territory! Maybe I’ll invite Mister Mittens to shower with me!

He didn’t know if his half hearted threat would work, his previous efforts to manipulate Allen usually falling flat. Still, he had to try – at least if he wanted access to his things and the clothes he set aside last night, he did. Okay, yes, Gabby could just pick something else to wear, no big deal. However, his preferred shampoo, conditioner and body soap weren’t as easily replaced. Worse yet, his tooth brush, hair brush, deodorant and razor were locked behind his bathroom door – his bathroom. Unlike Allen, Gabby didn’t have a tendency to stash extra personal care products in his brother’s bathroom. The bad news for Allen was Gabby found his twin’s hidden stash and put it in the other’s bathroom, where it belonged, about a week ago.

Auron shook his head in amusement and drifted into the kitchen, his younger brother busy preparing breakfast for the twins. It was one of Vincent’s greatest joys in life, but then anything he could do for Gabby and Allen shed a brilliant light on his old soul. “Something tells me I inadvertently started World War BT,” he sighed as he stepped over to the counter to fix himself a cup of coffee. “Allen’s on the war path and Gabby is plotting.”

Allen was use to the old threat, it was always something or another with his brother. In Allen's head it would have been better to simply leave Mister Mittens out of the little tiff between Auron and Gabby. Once the water was the right temperature Allen stepped under the water, it was just right. This made the blonde smile in joy. Now how to make it clear whom had one this battle. His blue eyes feel on Gabby's shampoo and conditioner, it was two large bottles filled to the brim with special, natural ingredients to help nourish Gabby's hair. He picked the bottle of shampoo up first, it felt heavy in his hand, meaning this was a new bottle. A devious little smile twisted the teens lips upward. Like Allen had been gifted with the far sight of learning everything great the idea popped into his head.

Go ahead and mark your territory, I still know what is mine, and what is yours. For example your shampoo and conditioner. I think that if it's all natural then it should be free! Let's not forget about your little, automatic spinning toothbrush might want to take a rise down to splash town... Now does that sound like fun? He was not a mean person. He just knew hoe to prevent Gabby from messing up his things, this was not the case when they were seven years old. When they were seven there was a lot of fighting and a lot of tears.

The thing about Allen he was not likely to actually follow through with his own threat as guilt would take little time to eat away at his conscious. Another problem was he hated, really and truly, hated seeing Gabby upset. There was something perfectly heart wrenching about seeing the way Gabby would collapse on in himself, the way he looked down, falling silent and showing little interest in anything other then hiding in their room. However this did not stop him from teasing his twin. He opened the cap, pouring a small little ball of shampoo in his hair. 'It will happen Gabby. I'll do it.' Allen teased.

Downstairs Vincent chuckled to himself, he had heard all the commotion to know exactly what had happened. Those boys really were something. They really were on 24/7, 365 times a year. About the time his older brother wandered back into the kitchen Vincent was finishing the last taco. That made at least two dozen, bakers dozen, those boys really did enjoy working him to the bone. Upon hearing Auron use a curious term he cocked an pale eyebrow at him, though the smile didn't dare leave, "World war BT? Would that have any correlation with World war Z?" He asked his brother.

Gabby spun on his heel and walked over to where Mister Mittens lay, bending over to retrieve his brother’s stuffed animal. His fingers sank into the soft pelt just as Allen responded to his threat, his devious smile fading with every word his brother sent him. Just the thought of his toothbrush floating in toilet water stopped him dead in his tracks. Shuddering and sliding his eyes closed, he fought the bile threatening to rise up in his throat. Granted, Allen’s threats were rather empty, Gabby all too aware his little brother probably couldn’t go through with his promise of retaliation. Still, did he dare? Upon rare occasion, his gentler twin did exactly what he said he’d do and that realization was enough to make him second guess his own ominous promises.

Hmmmm… Okay, but I have to ask, brother mine, just how do you think dad will react? That’s expensive shampoo and conditioner, so you’ll be pouring money down the drain. Then there’s the little fact my toothbrush is a rather pricey purchase to flush away without thought. Let’s think about this. A twenty dollar stuffed animal versus more than a hundred bucks. Not too sure dad will think any of that sounds like fun.

Despite his bold claim, Gabby left Mister Mittens exactly where the stuff animal fell earlier and retreated into Allen’s bathroom. Everything he pointed out was true, but Allen and he knew their father would lay into both of them. No, neither twin would escape his wrath if they carried things that far and Gabby had no desire to start the day out on such a bad note. So, he quietly accepted defeat, shut and locked the door behind him and went about finally taking his shower. Ah well, he felt rather grungy anyway, his skin beginning to crawl and itch. Vengeance would have to wait for now.

By the way, Allen, you try to eat my share of breakfast tacos and Mister Mittens will disappear…lost to the great void of nothingness, never to be seen again! Never to know your loving touch! Spending eternity alone in the cold…cruel…world! I’ll go to my grave with the secret of his location!

Auron paused in his efforts to fix the perfect cup of coffee, his attention shift to the twin troublemakers battling it out upstairs. They often forgot he was telepathic, allowing him to keep tabs on them. That or they really didn’t care, their playful war harmless in the end, neither boy willing to hurt the other. Their threats were rather creative, though, and a definite source of entertainment.

“Wha…?” he muttered, realizing then his brother asked him a question. Auron looked over his shoulder to find Vincent patiently waiting for an answer. “Well, I tell you now I found two zombies in their room when I went to wake the twins. But World War BT is short for World War Breakfast Tacos. Allen is determined to avenge Mister Mittens and Gabby will die to protect his breakfast tacos. I blame you for this insanity, just so you know.”

He stopped massaging his scalp, he shiver at the the thought of Allen actually doing what he threatened to. All he could see in his head was his dad, standing with his arms tightly crossed over his chest, no trace of a smile. In an attempt to sallow the wad of sand paper that had been lodged in his threat he swallowed, hard. There was something that scared both boys stupid, or rather someone. Vincent, their other wise loving, caring father who only cared to play around and harasses his older twin unless he was angry. Such a fearful sight for the duo. A shiver skittered down his spine.

'Ahhahaha, maybe some other time, huh? Or better yet, never.' Allen shot back to his twin. As for the tacos, Allen could only eat so many. He would leave the taco eating contest to his uncle and brother, not to say he was like Vincent, whom of which preferred not to eat anything at all. His dad always claimed he simply didn't have the appetite, but uncle Auron would never have his dads weak excuse. Like any other morning, this morning being no different, their dad would probably begrudgingly eat two dry slices of toast. Grumbling about how annoying this was. At least Vincent would enjoy the coffee or tea. 'By the way, can you please keep Mister Mittens out of this, he's the only furry kitty I have.' Allen did have a cat named Lunar-Night, Luna for short, she was a hairless feline that was as black as the night sky but with shocking sea foam green eyes. Due to Gabby and their dads serve allergy towards cats Allen he to find a way around it, that's how he found Luna.

Vincent had the same joy of being able to peek into those boys minds. There conversations were always one of the two; amusing or enlightening. As he observed the many many tacos sitting on the counter, waiting to be devoured by the boys, he glanced at Auron every second or so waiting for his answer. Not getting the response he had wanted Vincent thought about things he could do to get Aurons attention, he picked the knife he had used to cut meat up. Stabbing a canter of fresh coffee beans could work.

Quickly he tucked the knife behind his back as Auron speak. The coffee would have to wait. An eyebrow slowly began to climb upward," Oh really. Hmm, I do like the name, but my dear brother you are just as much to blame for the insanity as I."

Gabby followed his brother’s thoughts, agreeing that the very idea of pissing their father off with their early morning antics was anything but appealing. An angry Vincent was a terrifying daddy, not even his toothbrush and breakfast tacos enough for Gabby to face the man’s wrath. For that reason, he silently agreed to let their impromptu war go. Better that than spending the day with the very man who was less than pleased with them, but next time! Next time, Gabby would win and Allen would submit to his older brother – for once!

Mwahahahahhaaaa! I have you on the run at long last! Gabby teased as he reached for his brother’s shampoo, wrinkling his nose. Oh well, there was no helping it. Fine, I’ll leave Mister Mittens out of this if you promise to never steal my bathroom and hold my things hostage again!

Considering the matter settled, Gabby focused on washing his hair and getting ready for the day. Did he want to go school shopping? No, but nothing would make the dreaded day worse than going without a shower or showing his face in public with mussed hair. Besides, he knew “school shopping” meant they’d come home with a ton of new clothes despite the fact they attended a private school that required uniforms. Another point of contention for him, not wearing uniforms, but their new school’s idea of what a proper uniform looked like. Seriously, a white penguin tailed tuxedo with a blue vest? How very dull and overly pretentious!

Think we can talk dad into pulling us out of this school and putting us in another one? You know, one that has some sense of style?

Auron narrowed his eyes and arched an elegant brow, aware Vincent was hiding something. “Really? Pray, do tell, Vincent, how exactly am I to blame for this? I’m the sane brother, remember?” he pointed out, calmly walking toward the dining room to sit down and relax until the boys came down for breakfast. “By the way, put the knife down before you cut yourself. I’m not in the mood to play doctor this morning.”
