"Twin? Hello? Twin?”

Celene’s head jerked up, a piece of an unsigned document, stuck to the side of her face. “Huh?” She mumbled unintelligibly, swiping the paper off her face and blinking blearily.

“Wha?” She tried again.

“Celene, I know you’re there, pick up your phone.”

Celene shook her head, wiping her hands over her face and trying to clear the sleep from her ruby eyes. After the funeral, the media had allowed her not a moment to rest, hounding her at every opportunity to discover her opinion on what exactly had happened and what was to be her next move now that she had been promoted in the ranks of leadership.

Whoever said this job was easy, deserved a punch to the face...

Glaring at her answering machine, she was hardly surprise that it was barking angrily and it sounded a lot like…

“I swear to god, pick up the phone before I march over there and shove it up your-“

Celene scrambled to pick up the phone, almost knocking it off the desk in her haste.

“Claudia?”

A loud sigh invaded her ear. “Yes, Celene, it’s me. Surprising you couldn’t tell that already from my pleasant tones and idle threats. Lest you forget, We are needed at the lobby. Our contact has had something of a breakthrough.”

“A breakthrough?” Celene fumbled with her clothes, straighting out the wrinkles in them and tucking the phone under her ear as she reached beneath her desk to grab her heels. “What kind?”

“The interesting kind. Just come downstairs already, you don't want to be late” And with that her Twin was gone.

With a small smile, Celene rose from her seat, glad that at least something was showing her some kind of progress. For now she had hired her own detective in the investigation of the deaths of her fellow Supernaturals. Whatever was spilling the blood of the Immortals, Celene was determined to put a stop to it.
Carter Corwin (played by floatch)

Carter sits at a seedy street side Chinese food vendor, eating some steaming hot lo mein. He takes a few more bites before throwing it into a nearby garbage can and walking off, heading for his apartment. He pulls up the collar of his trenchcoat as he walks down the rain slicked sidewalk, eyeing the billboards and advertisements lining the streets. "Disgusting." he mutters to himself. The Immortals were behind all of this crap, flooding people's lives with cheap garbage and drinks and drugs just to make a few bucks poisoning the populus. He gets to his city street apartment and goes in, locking the door behind him. He slides out of his trenchcoat and hangs it up, sliding the pistol out of the pocket and into his chest holster. He sits down and opens up his computer, reading the news. He smiles at the headline. "Immortals are getting their just due and I hope to God that they know that the people are fed up and will dethrone them from their corporate empire soon. I'm just a catalyst." He says aloud to amuse himself.

(Is this sci fi?)
Zelph Leonhardt (played by Zinx)

No I don't think that will happen...yes I know-" she held the cell away from the furious yells from the other end. Zelph missed the days when all she had to do was transform into her beastly figure and man would cower and treat her with respect. She was known as the chimera, beautiful and deadly. Now humans were fearless, relying on their little weapons. And one had the nerve to murder one of them, the immortals.

The other side of the call went silent and she growled. That was the third time this week she let another client run her over. It would be so much simpler to command them to listen. She never was suited for office work. More of a warrior and guardan than dealing with spineless humans. Zelph grunted and tapped her pencil on the desk. She wondered what the twins were up to, especially the one who rose higher in the ranks. Running her hand through her brown hair she closed her eyes and leaned back in the chair.

This world was a mess. She wanted to know if cybereus, her brother, felt the same. He wasn't her blood brother, but more on the creative scale of which her beastly form had been designed. Raised together through their younger 100 years. Until the Lord of the underworld hired him. She picked up the phone and dialed the 3 digit number. "Hello?" answered a masculine voice.
"Hey pup."
"I told you not- uggh, what do you want beasty?" his pet name for her made her pout. "I'm not that bad." he chuckled knowing she was making that pitiful face as she always did.

(No, it's more like a modern fantasy)

“Good afternoon, Ms. Drake”

Ruby eyes stared into the face of the man before them. With this one look, Celene could tell a lot about him. Detective Carver was the kind of man who'd been born in a suit. He was a serious man with a serious gun who wanted to see things done and done right. He had the standard issue look for someone within his line of work; a hard face with square shoulders and an even squarer chin. He was close shaved and he spoke with a baritone voice and clipped legalistic words.
Life had no color for him, no shades of grey either; it was all black/white, right/wrong legal/illegal. He seemed perfect for the job, always eager to send the Twins updates and in-between meetings when time was permitting.

He was indeed perfect. Yet at times like these, both Celene and Claudia couldn’t help but think the detective was too perfect.

He was mortal, after all.

“Good afternoon, to you too Detective,” Celene greeted him, glad to see that her sister was at his side and not in harm’s way.

“Claudia tells me you have discovered a breakthrough within our case, I would like to hear more about it. Though let’s move to my office” She informed him, gesturing to the nearby elevator.

As the piled in the metal Elevator, everything seemed fine. The detective was smiling warmly at them, something that both found usually. For as long as they knew the detective, he never smiled until the case was complete…

When the door closed and the button was pushed to take them to the top floor, their would-be-assassin, struck. Without a word, he drew his gun, emotionless green eyes peering at the Twin’s with a hidden glint of hatred and malice.
“I think this case comes to a close now,” His lips curled upwards as Celene let out a small gasp. Her hunch had been right; this wasn’t the Detective, an imposter and apparently their assassin took his place instead. Quickly, he brought his gun up and pointed the barrel at Celene first, finger dancing on the trigger. With an inhale of breath, the trigger was pulled, the bullet escaping the silver-hand held pistol with a loud BANG!

Falling to the floor, Celene ducked just in time to avoid the bullet that was now lodged into the wooden wall panel. Peering upwards, she was glad to see that Claudia had swiftly disarmed their Assassin and had him pressed against the right side of the elevator. His right arm, hung limply at his side, it was definitely broken. It seemed like those 15 years of honing her martial arts skills were paying off quite nicely
“Celene, call Zelph, we are gonna need backup” Claudia ordered, from over her shoulder. Watching Celene smoothly pull out her cell phone from her pocket and dial their fellow Immortal's number.

“Yes, Zelph? It's Celene....We are having a bit of a problem here and humbly require that you stop by, preferably now" Celene tried to keep her voice calm.

They would need all the help they could get.
Laplace's Function (played anonymously)

He appeared out of the door as a spark of light went behind him. The place he arrived at was clearly at a build complex at the 25th floor of some luxury area. The floor was furnished with not so fancy things, but kept simple as it was. A modern taste for a modern man so to say. He took a look at his pocket watch before taking out his phone to complain, "A second off the arrival time. What do you have for me that I am back IQ?"

The phone's screen lit up with a loading screen then appeared a virtual girl dressed like a secretary, sitting behind a desk. She had the typical black suit, high heels, and black glasses of the kind.

She replied to him, "Since the last time you left this area, we have received news of high executives and powerful people being killed by an organization. As you would remember, these are called the Immortals. It has been awhile since your absence. Your business has been afflicted, but at a minimal damage. However, clients have been a bit nervous. Both supernaturals and normals alike. Intelligence acquired seemed to indicate it to be an Anti-Supernatural terrorist group."

He listened on as he placed the phone on the kitchen table before grabbing himself a glass bottle of coke, "I suppose I'll soon be on the list of their targets."

IQ pushed her glasses back into place, "As I may suggest, you perhaps can leave the plane til the event dies down."

He took a sip of the drink, "But what is the fun in that?"
Ignir (played by Ignie)

"Hey watch your step!" the man shouted as the androgynous being now behind him.

from his point of vue, he looked like a young boy, perhaps in his twenties. He was wearing a a brown trench-coat, way too big for him, with black pants, a white shirt under his coat, and a red band aroung his neck. The yound boy turned back and looked at the man.

"I'm truly sorry, sir, i'll be more careful from now on." he smiled. His voice was hoarse, he's probably smoking a lot, the man thought.

The boy waved his hand, always smiling. "Have a good day, sir." were his last word before he turned back and turned at the next corner.

Once she was out fo sight, the "boy" looked around, checking no one was around. She smiled, it was almost too easy. She undid her coat, revealing her gun, put her hand inside of it and pulled out a purse. She opened it and her smile widened. This guy carried a lot of money. She could have a magnificient meal tonight, and even save what would remain and sent it to her father. That was in those moment she wished to be Immortal, she and her father. Everything could have been easier.

Once the money and the credit card taken, she stood up and a big sound could be heard. Ignir, as she liked to be called, didn't panicked. She wondered if it was gunshots or just fireworks. However, after a few second of thinking, she smiled. Fireworks, or gunshots, anyway, people could be bothered by it and even panicking. She would just have to rob them, without being noticed.

This day wil be a good day, she thought while running toward the sound.

((If it somehow doesn't work or something, tell me, i'll change the post or delete it. :) ))
Zelph Leonhardt (played by Zinx)

She had just ended the call with Diaze when the phone rang again. It was one of the twins. Her voice seemed surprisingly calm, but the message seemed more of an urgent one. Hanging up the phone with a smile, she stood up quickly and grabbed her coat. Finally there was something other than office work. Though she probably shouldn't seem too excited if they were calling her. Zelph left her office and started her way to the elevator. Preferably she would fly instead, but with all the recent attempts at killing the immortals, it would be best if she didn't.

The doors of the elevater closed smoothly. Again she was reminded of how she hated small inclosed spaces. Pressing the button it lit up. Her foot tapped impatiently as it went up. Boring elevator music played through the speaker. Next time she would take the stairs, then should could fly up them. Though the janitors asked her nicely not to since her wing span caused small scratches along the walls. Finally the doors opened and she rushed out.

Her heels made a clacking noise when she walked down the hallway. Her hands automatically went running through her hair to try straighting out any rebel pieces. Then went to straighting and wiping off her suit. She started to look for them, knowing they called from a cell and not the office phone. Coming around the corner she saw the twins and a man being held down. For a moment she forgot she was in a suit, so instead she settled for a growl.

"Are you harmed?" her eyes looked them over from where she stood then they narrowed at the man. He was lucky this wasn't back when she had no control over her temper. She could almost hear the hiss of her tail and taste the fire on her tounge. Licking her fangs, she tried to get rid of the imaginary smoky aftertaste. Straighting out her suit again she said. "You called me?" please let me crisp him. she repeatedly chanted in her head.

Similar smiles rose upon the Twin's faces at the arrival of one of their more favorable immortal allies. Though Zelph could be one quick to ignite, quite literally in fact, she was still good company and both Cladiua and Celene consider her one of their true close friends.
"Zelph, it's good to see you again," Celene began, offering a wry greeting in light of their current situation. "Cladiua and I are fine. We called you to-"

"Fry this worthless excuse of a mortal" Cladiua finished, rather bluntly. As their Assassin moved to squirm, he was slammed even harder into the wall, causing him to groan in pain.

Shooting  her sister a look, Celene quickly tried to negotiate the situation, not wanting any more blood and or problems on her hands.
"A-Actually, I believe we called you for help. You are the best at getting information out of mortals and despite the current situation, we'd probably both feel safer if you were close by" Celene added quickly before her Twin said anything else. Leave it to Cladiua, to want to shed blood already. Sometimes Celene couldn't understand her sister. More bloodshed was exactly what they didn't need. The press would be all over them and Celene was pretty sure she nor Cladiua could handle that amount of headache.

"Can we at least drink from him?" Cladiua interjected, licking her lips hungrily. In her eyes, having a meal before giving him to Zelph was a favor. He would probably be half-way conscious when they were done which would make him barely feel the pain Zelph was no doubt planning on giving him. At least Cladiua thought, she couldn't remember how mortals worked anymore and frankly, she didn't care!

For now, they were the enemy and only the selected few could be truly trusted and even that was limited. With a heavy sigh of her own, Claudia practically growled at the thought of more work. Everything was just....Great.
Laplace's Function (played anonymously)

He finished his drink and placed it onto the table. He got up and told IQ, "Send a message to my security office Iodine that we will need her later for my security measures and other needs that she can provide. As for I, I'll be heading out to see what's the trend of this year's clothes will be."

IQ responded, "The message will be sent soon. I will notify you once she had responded."

He nodded as he opened his pocket watch, "Notify Mademoiselle Sakura that I'll be meeting her over dinner at that usual restaurant around the corner. I should be there by then once I done my hunt." He closed his pocket watch. His phone showed up a notification that a message was sent to Iodine. He grabbed his coat. It was unusual for him to be wearing a suit out of this kind of day, though he doesn't care for much. Rather to look professional. He placed a fedora on top of his hat and left his home. The lights and electronics went out as he did.

Beware of the man who carries the pocket watch
Ignir (played by Ignie)

When Ignir arrived, she smiled. As expected, everyone was baffled by the sound (It was surely a gunshot finally, she thought to herself), or at least, their attention was drawn somewhere else. That was just perfect, this was the best "playground" she ever saw. All those people, those pockets, that were calling her name. she tried not to show her excitement, and walk toward the crowd.

This was easy, almost too easy. She would just had to dump into them, mutters a "sorry" and go away, unoticed.

After emptying a few pockets. she went to a bench and sat down. While inpecting her loot, her curiosity was drawn to the gunshot (Or at least she supposed it was one.). Was it used for an assault, a murder? Was it linked with all those Immortals'death that happened more and more oftenly? The irony, she thought, Immortals dying. How could that even happens?

Suddently, all the lights went out, and more screams could be heard. Ignir took her phone out of her pocket and looked at the screen. It was pitch black, but it doesn't look like it was broken. She swore, at the phone, hoping he could listen to her and function again, but nothing happened. She put it in her pocket and looked around her. Many people were panicked, other were wondering what just happened.

Her smile widened.

"Time to go back to work." she said while standing up.
Zelph Leonhardt (played by Zinx)

A cat like grin spread across her face. "It would be my pleasure." she wouldn't kill him. Though that didnt guarantee he wouldn't come back without a scratch or two. The venom from her tail usually did the trick, threatening them with the idea that without the antidote they would surely die. Zelph also didn't mind if they fed off of him... even if it was just a little. The pain she caused, and the fear she planted in their hearts, was more than enough.

The crowd of people was starting to grow and her claustrophobia was starting to kick in again. Discussing the future of the man would have to wait till the area was safer and out of reach of nosey ears. To make matters worse, the lights went out, rising her agitation more. She could see perfectly and she was somewhat sure that the twins could as well, though she didn't bet on it. She shot a little flame on the tip of her finger, where it stayed obediently. Her features contorted when it was close to the flame causing her teeth to look sharper and bigger. Her eyes would reflect death and convey the thought of being eaten alive.

This incident could be another attempt at Celene's life. The chimera in her stirred and on instinct made her move closer to them. She also kept her eyes on the man, who was close enough now to see her face. This made her smile even wider with the thought that he could see who he was being sent to later, her teeth more menacing now. There seemed to be some movement in the crowd and a small growled vibrated through her throat. The figure seemed to go from person to person and never staying there long.
Laplace's Function (played anonymously)

(Where is this happening?)
Ignir (played by Ignie)

Always be in move was one of the main rule Ignir has applied to herself. Staying for too long in the same spot will only get her caught or in trouble. That's why when she has finished her business, she would just go as far as she could from her "victim", and perhaps stole the pruses that were not so well -hidden while doing so.

Soon, her loot was growing stronger and stronger, as she felt her coat becoming heavier at each actions. She was already dreaming about what she could eat tonight, and how happy her father would be when she'll send him all she got today. Soon, she would have enough money to afford a decent treatment for her father.

When she felt she couldn't have more purses in her coat, she quiclky retreated from the crowd to her bench and sat down once again. She undid her hair, her hair were so messy, she needed to do her hair again. She raised her hair to do her ponytail and froze as she saw too shiny spot that seemed to look at her.

She should have run away, but it was like her leg won't obey. She just stayed there, looking at those eyes.

Well crap, not a so good day after all.

Breathing sighs of relief, the Twins seemed almost ready to collapse as the weight of what was to be done to the human was worked out before them. Though Claudia seemed eager to pester Celene once again about taking a sizable bite from their assassin, the slightly more level headed Twin brushed her request aside and smiled once the doors opened to a more secluded area of their office building.

Taking a step off of the elevator, Celene exited the cramped space followed by a rather grumpy Claudia, as they bickered in hush tones about on how they would be requiring their daily "drink". Everything appeared normal and silencing her twin with a pointed glare, Celene turned to gesture for Zelph to follow and bring their guest of sorts before even more chaos ensured.

With a disheartening sound, the lights above them seemed to fizzle out and spark, only to leave them and the entire building in the dark. Peering out of a nearby glass window, Celene was surprised to see that not only was the entire building experiencing such a random failure of power but the city was as well. It all seemed too convenient, too planned out.

"It's a citywide blackout," She heard Claudia mutter from her side, ruby eyes scanning the crowds of tiny ant like people below them. They were fearful, if their levels of screaming was any indication.

And then something chilling happened.

Their "guest" began to chuckle, albeit hysterically, despite his current circumstances.
"Good job Carter. It begins"
Laplace's Function (played anonymously)

Laplace was considered one of those missing high immortals. He appeared and disappeared from this world as he wished. People normally can't find him. As a result, his existence became a myth. Those who witnessed him only said he only came to you, and never to him. But he's iconic, the man who carries the pocket watch. He wasn't what you called rich or a criminal. He was called a businessman, between criminals, humans, immortals, and others. No discrimination. What was heard was his connection to powerful people. Security, businesses, criminals, humans, and immortals all include it. Connection yet myths. He doesn't seemed to care for much. No love ones. No important people in his lives. No friends, but lived in a care free life.Beware the man with the pocket watch

He would appear at a crowded intersection, teleporting onto the location. He opened his pocket watch before putting it away, "It seems the city is on...a lockdown. Do you have any information IQ?" IQ didn't respond and showed a screen of a No. He nodded slowly, "Notify Sakura that our dinner needs to wait. Inform Iodine of the situation and look into it....I just return, I wish to get some peacefulness." A notification showed up, saying it notified Sakura and Iodine.
Zelph Leonhardt (played by Zinx)

Zelph wanted to transform there and then just to scare the captive and protect the twins at the same time, but in a building this small...and becoming more crowded, fear would be inevitable causing more panick. Looking at the twins and the captive she suggested an idea, "We should move from this area. Find somewhere with little to no windows. If it comes down to a run, I will shift and get us out, even if it's through some walls." she looked at the man, "And if you want, I can paralyze him with a snake bite." She grinned again, "It won't sting a bit." She lied.

Her lit finger moved closer to his face, causing her features to become scarier with the small smoke that revealed some of her form's more...toothy and lioness nature. "But if your worried it will kill him, I can always tramatize him." A small purring laugh came from her body. Your lucky your not in my torture room. Through time however, most of her more gory tools had to be let go. This century had more ways to do things now and ripping guts out slowly was no longer a thing.
Ignir (played by Ignie)

Ignir looked at the shining spots a few more seconds before her brain started functionning again.

Her survival instinct would tell her to run away as soon as possible, even if the dots were not harmless.
But if they weren't... Then she needed to be prudent, to act just as she haven't saw anything, whatever this was, a simple optical illusion, or worse.

She slowly stood up, some of her loot fell on the ground. The sound of pieces falling off made her jump and scream. A few people turned around to watch her, a confused look on their faces, while others were still trying to figure out what hapenned.

She apologized and after taking a breath, she started walking, forgetting the purse that fell. All she thought at this instant was to get out of here as soon as possible, and come back home, eat something and trying to forget about those spots.

"Paralyze him," Came Celene's reply as she barely glanced over her shoulder to look at Zelph. Brow furrowed in what could be a look of pure confusion and worry, the vampiress jumped at the sudden contact of her twin's touch upon her shoulder. She wasn't alone in this. Claudia was here as well was Zelph. Things hadn't completely gone to hell...At least not yet.

"Celene, we need to think of a plan..." Claudia began, eyes skirting over to the stone-faced assassin before looking into the mass darkness below.
"I know, as urgent as things are right now, Zelph has the right idea. We need to go some place, away from all of this...chaos before it comes to a head," She continued, watching her twin carefully as she hadn't yet to respond.

The room was silent before Celene finally budged. Closing her eyes to gain some semblance of completely composure, Celene turned on her heel and faced Claudia and Zelph.
"Obviously, these Anti-supernatural terrorist are up to something. With this blackout and assassination attempt on both Claudia's and my life, it would be wise to flee the scene and relocate somewhere else." Celene concurred, a heavy sway in her tone.

"However, even still, it would be wiser to get Intel. We can at least prevent more deaths of our fellow immortals and I know just the person who can get us such a thing," A smile twitched upon the vampiress's lips that left Claudia feeling unease. Whatever her twin was planning definitely wasn't a good idea. She could feel it...

"Celene, you aren't thinking about-"

"Yes, I must contact Mr. Laplace,"

"But he is always off the grid, he is nearly impossible to find!"

"Then we will just have to try harder, won't we dear sister?"

(Gonna make a post to keep this alive)

The days that followed were long and emotional. The blackout had lasted another day before the power was suddenly switched on and with that one would think that the city would return to some sense of normalcy. But instead, the city was turned upside down and chaos was dealt out more than once.

Two days after the blackout, three well-known supernaturals were murdered, one being Celene's favorite local fashion designer. The media practically exploded on the murders, the news and several other sources were in uproars on what was going on. People of all species; mortal and immortal alike, grew more and more distrustfully of each other as they days followed. It was more than a mess and things were sure to get out of hand if nothing was done.

"Here,"

Celene murmured her thanks as a cup of fragrant tea was handed to her. She didn't look up, eyes glued to T.V screen in front of her. The afternoon news was on, spouting more theories about who was to blame for the murders. Celene had every idea that the Terrorist had something to do about it.

"If you keep watching that stuff, you're never gonna get anything done," She vaguely heard her twin warn her as took the seat next to her on the couch. For awhile now, they took refuge in their studio apartment, figuring it was safer to stay inside their home and not in the public place of work. It was odd to hear her twin's tone in a playful manner, seeing how serious things were of late.

"I don't care Claudia, it is way more important to know what is going on and what other people think about it," Celene responded, sipping her tea before recoiling. It was way too hot.
"Have you heard from Zelph yet? Will she be able to make it over here?"

Claudia shrugged, placing her feet on the coffee table in front of them.
"Whose to say, she might have already taken her own fight to those Terrorist and set them all ablaze..." She trailed off and shared a look with Celene, who cracked a small smile. That did sound like her...

"What of Laplace? You got any information out of him?"

Celene shook her head. He was a tricky lead indeed.
