Seeking orphans and caretakers (teachers are an ideal example) for a medieval fantasy orphanage RP. Fantasy Level: Think maybe Elder Scrolls, D&D -- elves, humans, orcs and the like are appropriate for play, but more powerful and fantastic creatures may not be, and should be very rare if present.

Conflict: The orphanage's main source of funding is from donors -- very rich donors -- and the main donor has just died, willing his fortune to his children, who have not decided to donate as their father did. The orphanage must appeal to new wealthy donors (and quickly) -- somehow -- or else find some other means of income. For the orphans, this means the quality of life at the orphanage is rapidly slipping, and that within months they may be turned out again to the streets unless the orphanage finds easier times or they get adopted.
Magic 70%
Magic is fairly common. Players and NPCs important to the tale may have it. Mistborn.
Technology 30%
Renaissance
Combat 20%
A peaceful setting, but with a chance for small fights and struggles to break out on a very small scale.

Details: Freeform, adjustable length posts, long-term RP partner preferred.

I'm interested in a care taker role. I truly do love children

Any specific character?
I have two dragons from an imperial bloodline, the father could help fund the orphanage using a bit of his hoard, atleast for awhile, while his daughter takes care of the children in the orphanage.

Unfortunately as in OP, I am trying to keep the 'power level' so to speak low and on a relatively human scale, think Elder Scrolls, LOTR, Avatar: The Last Airbender. Dragons and half-dragons are kind of right out for player characters.
I've got a family of mages
Would my character Kiro be ok as an orphan for this? Without his ice magic (even if that's acceptable, I feel he'd be more fun in an orphanage setting without it) and with his computer knowledge replaced with general roguery (lock-picking, trap-disarming, etc)? I'd prefer to use him with his monkey-feet anatomy variation, as I still haven't had as many chances to try that out as I'd like and it's pretty fantasy-esque.

Yeah, I think that'd be fine!
I read Elder Scrolls and jumped right in :V (?)
I'm interested in this! I have an old skyrim character i haven't used in a while (a forsworn orphan), and i think it'd fit good in this plot!

Hahaha! I'm not saying this is a directly Elder Scrolls setting, but Elder Scrolls is a good example of the level of fantasy I'm going for. Should work tho.

Count me in, then :)

Hey bailias! I know we talked about raven and the modification to her powers/backstory, but I thought I'd put her character down anyway$
Hey can I join in as a caretaker? I've been wanting to use my character "Nametaker Tybalt" for this kind of thing, although he's a bit on the antagonizing side in terms of character.
Bek (played anonymously)

This sounds really interesting! Would this character work for you, with a few minor back story tweaks for the setting?

Edit; Lol actually a muse just smacked me upside the head and I'm thinking of making a character for this if that's alright with you?
Riswald (played anonymously)

I dunno who I want to play for this, but I'm very interested.

Oh holy shit, responses!

OK -- Tybalt -- I'm a little perplexed as your char CLEARLY isn't designed for anything like this sort of thing, but uhh, I may allow it if he's not straight up like "hello, i work at this orphanage and also I am an assassin". Like... he could work there but should at least be pretty secretive about the assassin bit. I don't dislike the idea of antagonistic staff at all. Conflict good, and those who are willing to present conflict to young chars are rare.

Bek -- I'd allow Bek but if you wanna make someone I'm SO DOWN FOR THAT for purely selfish "aww i wanted to be the boy overly attatched to his scarf" reasons.

Riswald -- YAY RISWALD! Yes. I will allow you.

That may actually bring me to my "we have enough players" marker.
Yeah don't worry I won't go too overboard with the assassination bit, if I have too I can modify Tybalt into a more kid friendly character for this scenario.
