A group of samurai walk into a small village on the outskirts of the Japanese Empire in search of ninja or ninja sympathizers. They eye the villagers suspiciously as they avoid their gaze. Meanwhile, the town medicine woman, a beautiful individual with a pink lotus flower in her violet flowing hair, cleans a small bowl just outside her hut. Her kimono was simple yet somehow elegant and her expression was soft and welcoming. Suddenly, a stranger came to town...
(Sorry for the long delay)The stranger had the clothes of a noble person, he slowly walked to the village market and began to browse quietly, he bought a bag of fresh rice before moving his attention to the medicine but, he walked to it with purpose, he leaned in and whispered to Ai"I know who you are. We need to speak privately..."
One of the samurai glanced at the two but the patrol kept walking. Ai smiles at the stranger and looks around before nodding to the entrance to her hut. She walks in, her elegant kimono flowing behind her. The medicine woman closes the door after the stranger walks inside and sits on the floor at a table, pouring two small cups of tea. "Welcome, stranger. What must we talk about?"
"I am The Black Mantis. I know that you are The Floating Lotus. I have identified a threat to the north that needs taking care of" The male slowly sipped his tea, glaring at the entrance in paranoia
Ai nods, following his gaze to the entrance with a curious look on her face. "I see. In the daytime, especially with samurai so close, I would prefer to be called Ai. What is the threat to the north?" Her voice was melodic and passive, yet not weak or faltering.
"A rouge ninja. Squatting in with a group of samurai. He's giving information to them. It's either kill the samurai or eliminate the ninja quietly. Your choice." The man pulled a bag out from under his kimono, it was a bag of gold"Payment is also on the line if you wish"
Ai looks at the bag of gold and smiles, sipping her tea. "Black Mantis, I do not do what I do for money. I will accept some money so as not to cast disrespect onto your hospitality, but you may keep half of your gold. Mercenaries do not make good healers, Mantis." She fixes her hair and bows her head a bit with a smile that made her seem wise beyond her years.
