Greetings, people of... this place!

I have come from Japan seeking to fill my time with adventures! (No, really. I'm actually from Japan. It's really pretty here.)

Anyway, I am an avid book-lover of fiction novels; may it be fantasy, sci-fi, thriller, or all sorts of great stories. I want to consider myself a gamer as well, having owned gaming consoles that started with an Atari, all the way up to Playstation 4, and those in between. I watch movies almost on a daily basis, and I've done my fair share of TV series (Firefly, Charmed, Buffy, etc.)

Sadly, I have not played tabletop RPs before and the only roleplaying I've ever done are through computer games and writing stories on forums. Which brings me to the reason why I came here...

I want to write again.

I'm still not entirely sure if I'll find the forum RP style I'm used to doing or I'll discover an amazing new outlet for my creative juices, but I'm really quite excited to find out. So please bear with me if ever we get together in an RP somewhere and I fumble around for a bit, especially if it's an RP style I have never done in my life!

Thank you for reading this far and it's awesome to meet you!
Hello and welcome to RPR! I hope you make lots of friends and enjoy your time here!
Hey Vanderhuge, welcome to RPR! :)

Do you have any questions pertaining to the site?

Thanks guys!

I haven't really explored the site yet and have just created my first character.

The term 'roleplaying' seems to have so many meanings and the vibe I'm getting from here is that it's the "Dungeons & Dragons" type of roleplaying with game masters and especially with the dice function.

The 'roleplaying' that I'm familiar with is the forum story-writing though and that's actually what I'm looking for. I've done group RPs and 1x1 RPs using my original characters in the past. I wish to create stories again.

Edit: Forget it
Oh, trust me! The D&D vibe may be strong here with a few players, but RPR actually specializes in forum roleplay and 1x1 roleplay as well! They're actually two of the main kinds of RP you'll run into here, with off-site roleplays (Furcadia, Discord, and Kik being three of the most popular off-site locations to play) and group roleplays being in the top five. The dice roll function in the reply box is for those who want a bit more luck-induced variety in their freeform RP (for example, rolling a four-sided die to choose which direction your character goes if you don't know which way to choose and all of them lead to some sort of freeform adventure regardless); it's not necessarily strictly for D&D and other tabletop games, though it definitely can be used that way! Regardless, I'm sure you'll definitely find that writing fix here in no time~ (If it makes you feel any better, I am pitiful in learning how to D&D, but I still want to give it a shot.)

But it's really sweet to meet you! I'm Lucree, but you can call me Light, Lucretire, Lotus, whatever you like! Welcome to RPR!

So you're from Japan? Awesome! May I ask what kind of foods in Japan you would suggest to someone wanting to visit? Or do you have a favorite food you can't get enough of?

If you're still getting used to the place, the Help Section is great for new users and experienced ones alike! (I still refer to it from time to time.) If the articles there don't help, you can always ask any of us on the Help Forum or shoot us a PM! We're all extra friendly here and will do our best to point you in the right direction!

Hope you enjoy the site!

RPR isn't limited to the D&D style of roleplay, dice mechanics are completely optional (and from what I've seen, people who use the D&D style are in the minority here). If you take a look at the various roleplay forums, we actually have quite a few story driven RPs going on! Groups are a great way to find long term group RP in fully fleshed out settings.

You can also peruse the LFRP forum or start your own topic and lay out what you're looking for. A lot of people set up their RP preferences either on their personal profile or their character's profile, but putting them in a LFRP topic works just as well.

Oh, and welcome!
That's amazing. I saw some threads that are looking for people and the stories all are looking quite interesting. The dice system seemed quirky at first but I think I know how I could later use it in my stories. Thanks!

Hullo there Lucree! Fantastic to meet you as well, you sound so fun. I have heard of Discord but not sure how it works, some roleplay sites I've stumbled upon are very complicated and it was just too difficult to jump in. But RPR sounds like it caters up the glorious stuff right up my alley!

Yep! Japan is ultra amazing as rumors say. The spring season is just round the corner and the pink sakura blossoms will soon blanket the country in a few weeks or so. I highly suggest trying the 'shiru-nashi ramen' or 'no-soup ramen'. Also, go and try the 'tsukemen' and 'Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki' as well. For dessert? Just go to any local Japanese sweets shop (the traditional ones) and get a platter of various sweet dango sticks! I recommend the sweet-bean flavor.
Welcome to rpr! I wanna go to japan...its pretty and the culture is pretty rad..and then my friends just call me a weeb for it, lol.
Welcome to rpr! I love your introduction :) I'm sure that you'll find plenty of rp here, as the people are rather friendly. I don't usually rp in the forums, so if you find that you don't like the forum style, there are private message rps that you can do :D
Wow Japan, thats awesome! I've always wanted to go to Japan. How is it there? I'm also a gamer myself. I honestly no-life video games! Haha, anyway welcome to RPR! Hope you have a nice time here~!
Welcome to RPR! I hope you like it here and decide to stick around. Everyone's really friendly and helpful, so don't hesitate to ask questions. Hit me up if you're interested in roleplaying!

My roommates and I are in the process of rewatching Buffy right now, hah. Who's your favourite character?

Oh hey guys! Thank you for the warm welcome, I already feel at home here now.

Japan is in the midst of changing seasons and the "sometimes-cold sometimes-warm" gusts of wind are blasting from all directions almost everyday. Trees are still quite bare but come March, those sleeping buds will come to life. I love this country in spring.

Yes! The forums offered so many RPing opportunities that I've been searching for. I made a "Looking For..." thread for my new character and got bombarded with requests. It's awesome.

If you guys are interested, I'm going to put a (shameless promotional) link here for that thread. Hope to RP with you!

Hello and welcome to the lovely site RP Repository. Welcome to the world of different races, unusual---No, unique---names. Everything about everyone here is unique in their own way.

If you are a beginner to roleplay and you need help, or if you just want to learn the ways of this lovely website, you can go here and it will surely help you, as it helped me!

Have fun here! ^_^ :star:
I kind of greet you already, but doesn't kill to do it twice lol
So then, welcome to RPR! Again xD

Welcome to the site! It's awesome to see you throwing yourself in and getting a good start to things, hope we get the chance to RP together! And don't worry about the dice and all that, you can use them if you want, but you don't need to. Sometimes I use them for things that are more like chance, but usually I just use my creativity to make decisions and allow my partner to do the same :)

Again, welcome! As I'm sure you've already found, RPR is an amazing community!
Welcome to RPR! :) Hope you found just the type of RP you were looking for! :D

I did! And I'm currently starting a couple other more new stories with people, can't believe just how active this place is an how willing people are to just joining for an RP. It's amazing and exciting.

At first I thought I would have to create a very elaborate character with a detailed back story and stuff just to fit in. But it's heartening to know that it's not a requirement to jumpstart a bunch of stories. Just with my one character I have partnered up with a lot of people with great ideas. My problem now is finding the time to write them!

A happy problem indeed.
Hi and welcome to RPR.
