At the sound of her doorbell, Odette rolled from her sofa onto her feet, hair bouncing around her shoulders. She tossed it over one shoulder, letting out a slow yawn and a stretch. Her movie could wait, if she had a guest, but secretly, she hoped that the bell was little more than a delivery for a package she had forgotten.
Her brown eyes widened the second her door squeaked open, however -- no, that was no package. It was a child, a girl as far as her memory served her, and for a moment, her own mouth hung open.
"Hello, there. What're you doing here?"
