Whenever you roleplay, do you ever imagine some background music playing to whatever your current scene is? Maybe some heavy metal during a battle scene, maybe some country during travel scenes, maybe some smooth jazz doing resting scenes?
I do it all the time, whenever my character's in a battle scene, I always have Metallica or other rock/metal groups playing in head.

I do that allot, but with my game music. Once I was in a snowed in tavern RP on another site. I just played this on my laptop.

I use mynoise.net for RP background music when I'm writing, since it has functions for RPG battlefields, dungeons, and forests. You can control all the noise components. It's pretty nifty.

I've used that site before as well. It is handy in a pinch.
Also, I subscribe CryoChambers ambient music on YT, which I think is awesome and not distracting when writing.
I usually forget to use them, but I have different collections for various moods as well as settings. Lyrics in songs I find very distracting, but a good instrumental or ambient track can help ease me into the creative zone when I'm having trouble. 
It doesn't work for everyone, but it's always worth the try!

Personally, I listen almost exclusively to the bands Wardruna and Wolgemut, as it makes great atmosphere and rhythm

I tend to have character playlists.
For more generic moods, my go-to's are Two Steps From Hell, Thomas Bergeson, Zack Hemsey, Audiomachine and E. S Posthumous.

I can't help but find myself a bit jealous. xD Even with music with no words, I don't have the mental capacity or attention span to listen and write at the same time. I require pretty much absolute quiet. Sometimes I can tune it out, but that's just it... if I don't tune it out, I can't concentrate on writing. I do sometimes listen to music between posts, when I'm waiting for a response, though. xD
