Today's the big day all across the US: a total solar eclipse is going to appear all across America! The last time this happened was in 1979, which is under 40 years ago. (38 years to be more exact, I think!)

So does anyone have any plans to view the eclipse? If so, did you buy any eclipse glasses, or do you plan to makeshift your own eclipse viewer? Has anyone already seen it from their time zone? My own viewing will be happening in the next 16 minutes, with the maximum eclipse happening around 1:33 p.m., so I'm pretty excited!
Yeeet! It'll be over Kansas City at like 1:00PM and I'm excited for it!

There's a total solar eclipse happening over the entire United States, and it's a once in a lifetime event. (This has only happened 38 years ago.) If you're in the US, it's worth checking out!
I'll be viewing it from Minnesota. I heard the best place to view it is from Kentucky, sadly I just moved from there. Be careful when you view it, don't look at it for too long. It's like looking directly at the sun and it can hurt your eyes and even lead to blindness. If you view without the special glasses just make sure you don't look at it for too long!!

Where I am, the best place to view it from is Tennessee, since I'm in the deep, and I mean deep South. *shudders* I unfortunately don't have the special glasses, but I had to make my own pinhole viewer to see it from where I am. Even though I have to turn my back to see it properly while using it, I'll be sure to be careful!
It's coming in one hour for me, so that's exciting! Unfortunately I don't have anything to view the eclipse with without harming my eyes, but nonetheless, it's quite thrilling.
It's live at the moment ^^

Update: I actually got a very nice view of it from where I am! However, it's starting to get really cloudy here... The bane of any eclipse. If no one has any glasses, there's a simple way to view it!

All you need is two pieces of white cardboard or card stock. Punch a small hole into one card using a small pin, and then hold it up to the second board so it casts a shadow. Go outside and turn your back to the sun, then hold it up so a bit of light shines through the pinhole! You'll be able to see it perfectly~

I got to see it a little but it seems like it'll be cloudy here for the best of it.

Same here, I only got to see the start of it before the clouds blocked the way, and they've yet to disperse. Hopefully it doesn't rain here.
The cloudiness along with the eclipse gave it a bit of an eerie feeling to it. The quietness of my neighborhood, rundown houses, and overgrown treelines around the neighborhood made me feel like I was in a horror movie.

Ikr? But the clouds finally cleared out, and I can see it in full. This is beyond exciting, and it looks amazing.
Yes, I am viewing the eclipse. My school got glasses
