I'm trying to figure out a decent way to use the site on my phone. The provided text editor constantly recenters the window as the user inputs letters, making it impossible to see what I'm typing as I type it (mitigated somewhat by Swype). The interface also actively fights the user when scrolling around the text box, frequently going totally nuts and seizuring around left and right, making it impossible to do anything. I also can't scroll down beyond a certain amount of text, which is a hassle for obvious reasons.

Currently I use an office program to compose posts beforehand, unfortunately this tends to result in paragraph breaks being eaten when the text is pasted in.

I'm well aware that coding for other platforms is usually more trouble than it's worth, so I don't really expect anything in this area.

You may want to try going to Dashboard > Your Settings. Look under "display settings". Choose "try to be more friendly to low-memory devices". This will strip out the user interface for text boxes on the forums, hopefully removing all of the extra stuff that your phone is fighting with.

If you're using Android, this issue is also caused by the native browser that doesn't allow for nice writing in textboxes on ANY site. I use Opera Mobile as browser on my phone and it fixed a lot of annoying problems I ran into.

Oh dude I totally forgot about that! I had opera on my last phone that I may or may not have dropped in the ocean. Thanks for the tip!

This is helpful to me too. Lol it's such a pain doing everything via mobile.
