• History of Erycus

  Power and money. Two of the main reasons of why the humanity had killed itself all over the years. Since the start of time, humans always wanted to be better that one another, always craving to have more...always craving to take things away from others. That was, of course, what the ancient books said. After all, the last war was four thousand years ago, the same time when a new energy source was found.... The Ether, where everything began, and where everything ended. Thing was, that since it exsisted and didn't exsist at the same time, it was hard to collect. That was, until the Ether driver was created, a device capable of materializing the ether as a silvery white essence, powerful enough to mold things at the will of the user. Thankfully, one of the many things that couldn't be created with the ether was life, or not by human hands. Too many times scientist tried to, and failed dramatically. It wouldn't take them too long to give up, and begin to look for better uses of it.
  
  In no time, The old resources were no longer useful, and The Ether began to be used worldwide. Wars ended, civilizations grew...and so people did. The criminal rate grew dramatically, since there were some people that used The Ether for their own purposes, forcing all the nations to reunite and create a whole new world order....The Ancient Confederated Brotherhood. It took less than ten years for the ACB to build an 'Ancient Temple' over every single country, place that served to moderate the use of The Ether, and also punished the vandals who abused of it.
  
  With time, a side effect began to appear. People began to use The Ether naturally. Some could cast elements, some could control the materia...and some could even materialize and descompose solid objects. These people were quickly recruited, analyzed and controlled by the ACB, using them as their Elite of Self Deffense, while giving them privileges for their services. The Elite quickly was deployed by pairs by every city, of every state, and every country. The mass of civilians respected them, adored them...and feared them.
  
  That's how the world began it's true golden age. That's how the people began to really enjoy their lives...or so everyone thought.

• The Southern Codex

  Born of a human father and a fourth generation Elite Caster mother, Ross started his life with a healthy childhood, although, for some reason, the boy was born with a sort of...markings, over and around both of his biceps. His father was alarmed, and his mother...She knew what those symbols were. Even so, the boy received all the love he could ever ask for, or need. By the age of three, he had already learnt how to walk and talk, between other things, quickly receiving the chance to go to school...and so, the troubles began. The bullies of the local school began to pick on him, Calling the boy nasty names by those markings he had. He was always told by his mother that he was special, and that he shouldn't be bothered by what the kids said of him. That was, of course, until one of them dared to pour a full bottle of ink over him, saying that he needed even more markings. The little boy went on berserker mode...literally. A little shove sent the bully flying to the nearest wall, just to land with a soundful thud over the floor, and needing to be sent to the nearest healing center as quick as possible. The teachers freaked out as soon as they saw the little show, and sent the five year old boy home. Ross was banned from the school, and so his home teaching began.
  
  His parents always asked themselves how it was possible that such little thing could be so...strong...but it only happened that time. His dad always played with him, wrestling with the little guy, secretly trying to see if his strenght was an usual trait...but it wasn't. It was certainly odd...and it all made sense when an Elite Caster knocked on their door. Miss Elizabeth De Lacroix was her name, a young grown up female with knee-long blonde hair, electric blue eyes, and slightly pale skin. She had heard of the accident, and just wanted to make sure of what was already obvious to her eyes. Ross was a caster...but the first one to be mixed with The Ether itself. His markings over both of his biceps were the solid proof of it, and the other one? He emanated copious ammounts of the resource. It couldn't be seen, but it could be felt by an expert in the subject, such as his mother, and Miss De Lacroix....and so, his new life began. Even though his mother begged and even wanted to drop her charge as an Elite Caster to keep her son from being taken away, it was already decided. Ross was sent to the Elite's Academy, a place where he was taught elementary and advanced school, along with combat training, use of The Ether, between other things.
  
  Ross was...one of a kind. Not only he emanated his own source of Ether, but he also could cast every single element, when all the Elite Casters could only use one. When he turned eighteen, the young man was given the chance to enter the Elite Crew, and even be made into one of the special operatives...thing that he didn't refuse, but at the request of one condition: He would protect his hometown. He wanted to be the Elite representative of his hometown, and nothing else...and the Brothers of the Confederation gladily accepted his request, and so, with twenty three years of age, Ross was named the Southern Codex, the Elite Caster of Tanosia.
