Not much is known about Roark's past. He isn't too keen on sharing it either. At some point during his adult life he decided that Piracy was a profitable venture and traveled to Khmaurieng. A small island in Southwest Asia in a territory currently disputed by several governments. It is currently a pirate refuge where the flow of cash and stolen goods is unimpeded. Roark took a few jobs with various crews under different captains scraping together a comfortable life on the island.
A few years later a ship named the Sea Reaver made port at Khmaurieng. No ordinary ship. The Sea Reaver is a refurbished 30,000 ton cargo ship. It is equipped with lavish crew quarters, defensive armaments, a single rotary wing aircraft hangar, and internal dry dock. The dry dock currently houses two patrol boats one six man submarine. Roark was recruited after receiving an invitation from the captain "Marcus Teach". A man none of the crew have seen or met.
