PERSONALITY

Level-headed and patient, Arthur is well-mannered and easy to get along with. He's firm and even fierce when he needs to be, but generally he likes his job and the people he works with.
Sometimes his work gets overwhelming - being god of the dead involves a lot more paperwork than one might think - but he appreciates where he is, and he doesn't mind putting in those long hours. Once in a while, he'll step out to meet the recently deceased on his own, in Grim Reaper fashion, when he needs a break, but it's fairly rare. Arthur is content to allow death to happen naturally; he likes those who try to prolong the lives of others.
He does occasionally grow frustrated - most commonly with people who seek to end their own lives, or when he feels he isn't fulfilling his job as well as he should - and it's possible to rile him up with a nickname he detests or comparing him to his predecessor, but generally he's able to maintain his composure.
For all he likes people, Arthur can come across as awkward, and sometimes misses cues that would be obvious to someone who spent more time around the living: he tries his best, and really just wants to do his job as well as he can.
