The DeSeer Mansion

The home of the DeSeer clan and bloodline, the Mansion is a newly erected building, designed in the style of stately homes of yesteryear.
The Mansion is comprised of three ranges. The East Wing forms the luxury wing of the home, the West Wing is the working core, while the Southern Range performs the usual functions of society houses, including a library.

There is also a third floor to the home, reserved for the Matriarch of the bloodline, and rumors of underground rooms also. See below for more details.

After accessing the Estate by the long cobbled drive, one enters the main hall from the grand oaken doors in the center of the front range. These doors bear the tribal crest of the DeSeer line, carved into the wood with precision and with animal heads and hunt scenes worked into the design.

Beyond the doors, one enters a marble hall with a ceiling all the way up to the third floor. A grand rug leads from the door to the base of an epic pair of staircases, which sweep upwards to balconies on the second and third floors.
Grand hallways lead to the East and West wings respectively, while the majority of the southern wing is taken up by social rooms and a library.

Of final note, a glass elevator sits to the left of the stairs, for access to other floors (some of which may only be accessed with a DeSeer signet ring), while it is mirrored on the right by a sealed door with the more arcane DeSeer seal… a door which may only open with a tribute of blood.

This wing of the building forms the working base of the DeSeer home, looking out toward the Working Gardens from all floors.

Its ground floor constitutes the extensive kitchens and prep rooms to feed a veritable army of people, should such ever be in the building. Despite the nature of the family who runs this Estate, there is often cause for grand cooking and banquets to be held within the home, and thus the place is overseen by a veritable harpy of a woman, formidable as a mountain… Maria, chief Housekeeper. Woe-betide any man who crosses her, or messes with her herbs.

On a less delectable note, the West Wing also houses the clan armory, behind a vaulted door (with DNA pass access), an indoor shooting range, extensive gym… and a sauna of all things.

This wing is the ‘luxury’ range of the home. On those occasions that the family holds a celebration, a charity event, or welcome rare guests into their home, it is the East Wing that is most likely to be shown off to the visiting party.

The luxuries range from a pair of ballrooms to a full-sized swimming pool, a music room, a grand dining hall and bar with an attached lounge and billiard room.
The wing is most often used by either visiting parties, or when the house is calm and quiet, by the house staff who are encouraged by the DeSeer line to enjoy recreation time, especially with each other.

The front of the house, the Southern Range is generally what guests will see first on approaching the house, and may be seated in until the Lady of the House can meet with them.

The Southern Range hosts all the expected rooms of a mansion - there is a reading room, sun room, drawing room, library, study and storage space that take up much of the front of the manor. While the library rests in the eastern 'tower', the western one is given over to a sunroom. The Housekeeper, Maria, also has her own personal suite on this level.

Generally, the rooms of the Southern Range are not used much save when dignitaries, unexpected visitors or the media decide to pay a visit, and are very much just 'decorations' on the great cake that is the DeSeer Estate.

Above the ground level of the house, the second floor of both the East and West wings are given over to bedrooms and habitation spaces.

In the East, the rooms are denser and more spartan, almost like a glorified barracks, though upmarket by those standards. The East Wing boasts two sets of four communal bathrooms, all picked out in fine finishes and high-quality furnishing despite their small side. There are then a variety of rooms of different sizes for the staff retained by the DeSeer line, while 'G. Block 6' operates as a low-key dining hall for the same.

The West Wing is the Family wing. The rooms here are much larger and extremely luxurious. The rooms consist of a three-space area, of a bedroom, bathroom, and study. King size beds with four-post frames, walk-in wardrobes, hefty antique desks and claw foot bathtubs are the order of the day, with the rooms belonging to each of the DeSeer heirs further refined to match the tastes of each inhabitant. The Corvan suite is maintained to the same standard for those close guests the DeSeer's may host of a night.
Interestingly, to those unaware of the DeSeer’s nature… the West Wing does not seem to have quite so many windows on the second floor.

The second floor of the front range, such as it is, is mostly taken up by a balcony overlooking the main hall, and upstairs areas to the drawing rooms and studies on the ground floor, as well as the very necessary and overworked laundry rooms.

The top floor of the mansion is the personal haven of the Lady of the house. The Matriarch DeSeer, the Bloody Patron, The Red Seer.

Roan’s rooms are the largest of any of the family, a perk of being the Boss.
Beyond a generally bigger floor print for the usual study-bath-bed, Roan has both rooftop access to the rose greenhouses, a small personal library inside her study and an ante-chamber to prevent anyone accessing her suite without a signet ring.

Additional to these rooms, there is a small atrium on the top floor, as well as an indoor potting room for germinating roses from the rooftop gardens.
The atrium is home to a selection of exotic plants, and some large lizards, personal pets of the Lady.

Finally, one last suit of rooms sit on the east side of the floor, designed for habitation by her personal valet/butler. At present, this suite is occupied by one Alexander De'leon.

Garage
The most common of the facilities hidden underground, the DeSeer’s prefer to keep their fleet of vehicles hidden from view beneath the surface, where wind and rust do less damage.
While in an ideal world the family might prefer the presence of climate control and a range of bikes, cars, and four-wheelers, such is not possible in the Crossroads.
As a result, the Garage is instead a strange mix of coaches stored on the one side of the extensive space, and actual stalls and stabling on the other. Tack hangs on the walls, to go on the dozen horses resting within the stalls. Horses that, against the odds, do not seem to have that usual strong horsey smell about them. Dog kennels take up the final stretch of space in the area, with enough housing for two dozen animals.

Crypt
On those few plans or discussions from masons and construction engineers who had anything to do with building of the Mansion, a second underground level was constructed to act simply as ‘crypts’. Unless the DeSeer’s intended to bury a town’s worth of people, the space is over large, but as to what is actually hidden here… few know.

‘Wine Cellars’
On construction of the new building, provision was made for a third floor of ‘wine cellars’, just above the sewerage network and utilities needed for such a house. While this might just be exactly what this layer of stone lined and sturdy rooms is for… one would not be wrong in finding the space occupied to be beyond extensive for the needs of even the most noble of families. Not least of which when a signet ring is needed to even enter.
