Fate is distant and aloof in most situations, playing the part of the calm, suave and confident individual that doesn't expect anything to go wrong in his life. Everything seems to fall together for him (at least that's how he makes it look) and he refuses to admit that he is responsible for anything, let alone the fate of the future. He's never in any sort of a hurry and he almost needs to be slapped into reality when he has to be serious and take action. However, when he finally uses his powers (which he seems loath to do) he becomes a completely different person, and one that seems to ooze wisdom and understanding, a mysterious air hanging around him and a will to help anyone he deems fit. He despises his responsibilities and goes out of his way to make sure he doesn't become attached to anyone in any sort of friendship or relationship simply because of his tendency to be warped through time. Sometimes he's successful in this and sometimes he's not, as he's surprisingly kindhearted for one who should be more concerned with the bigger picture as opposed to individuals. He often regrets not being able to help those caught in unfortunate fates and their plights weigh heavily on him.
