Samara's past is a mystery to her and everyone around her. She had gotten amnesia as a child, but always gets flashes of memories. Therefore, the stuff that she doesn't remember will be in this spoiler tag. Samara grew up as the daughter to a noble from the Royal family, all who were suspected to be dead after the revolution. She lost her memory after slipping and falling on the ice near the outskirts of the royal property. She was 8 when she lost her memory. She had suffered a great trauma that night, possibly the cause of her amnesia. She had watched behind a cupboard as soldiers shot her parents, and everyone she loved, so is now scared of loud noises. She was running from guards when she slipped and fell. They had lost her in the woods. The last thing she saw before she fell was everything she had ever known being burnt to the ground She grew up as an orphan, staying in an orphanage in St. Petersburg. She had practically raised herself, seeing that there was definitely not enough money to take care of all the girls in the orphanage. She had encounters with criminals, low-lives, and everyone in between. She never made any friends, because she didn't see the point. She found everything easier if she didn't have anyone else to worry about. She didn't want to suffer losses, because she had already lost enough. She knew that she had lost everything, because otherwise she wouldn't have had to raise herself and grow up in an orphanage. She could only come to that conclusion. She had seen other people around her die from everything in between starvation and disease. She couldn't suffer through that. For this reason, she can come off as cold and uncaring, whereas she actually cares too much.
