• Things to know

  For starters, lightweaving and her void magic are two separate entities that exist on far ends of a single spectrum. The void seals that are tattooed throughout her body suppress her innate magical gifts while simultaneously charging the seals and priming them to be activated. Once activated, the spell is released and the seal temporarily breaks. While broken, the seal no longer suppresses her light abilities until the seal can be reformed and charge up again. For each seal that is broken by Mercira's handler, the stronger her connection becomes to the light. Mercira is at her best when she's able to balance both void magic and lightweaving interchangeably but to do so she and her handler needs to manage the seals effectively.
  
  Mercira comes from a world where it more or less mimics our own. This means day is night, night is day and so forth. She is nocturnal and functions best as night and her glowing light shadow, the radiance, shines brighter when there is more natural darkness to absorb. Her overall energy is also reflected in how bright her radiance is.
  
  In her own world the manipulation of light is focused on manipulating one's light shadow and weaponizing its energy. This is used to jump from one light shadow to another, materializing light as physical objects, generating light as beams of heat, or paralyzing a foe by freezing their light shadow. In the physical world this is highly limited to her own shadow and the fact that there is more natural light in this world than her own, she's become adept at bending natural light. As a result, she's become quite the capable illusionist and has learned to use light to deceive, misdirect, and trick her foes while relying on void magic to be her weapons.
