Rory Eakins

Where to begin?
How about the fact that he actually comes from a quite wealthy family in Canada? Yes. Rory comes from a family where money never has been a problem. However, he kinda do not care… That much. From a very young age, Rory stopped using his full name. The Livingston-name has always been quite big in the area he grew up. Instead he chose to go by the name “Rory Eakins”, short for Ruaidhri Alexandre Livingston Eakins. Not only because it was way shorter, but people did tend to judge him by his father’s name and reputation. Already in kindergarten kids came to pretend they wanted to be friends, mostly because their parents told them to, but they never seemed to get along.
In the beginning of state school Rory was transferred from a private school, to public, to start over, and not use his father’s name. At that school he met his - now - best friend Lucia Lee. Someone who did not judge - mostly because he never told him about his family’s name - and someone who he most definitely judged by her look. Because let’s face it.. She was quite overweight, and Rory took advantage and made fun by mocking her and calling her names. He was a shitty kid, and he still is, but he in the end, he has a heart of gold. He’s just not the brightest kid you’ll ever meet.
Actually they weren’t very close back then, and Rory was pretty rude, but he mostly said things to be funny, not rude. If you wonder how it went, you’ll have to go ask Lucia Lee.

Rory and Lucia (Lee) went together and started at the same high school - parallel classes, but they did stick together due to the scary new place with tall people, and real bullies.


In high school Rory was - on contrary to the time before he changed schools - the complete nerd package. He loved playing video games, did more than “well” in the science classes, was completely obsessed by the television series “Doctor Who” and swore he’d get a Gallifreyan tattoo on his arm when he was old enough (and he did), and of course he had a wank various times a day, to sexy anime characters. He was also well-aware of his low place in the hierarchy, and admired every pretty girl that passed by - even the young, foxy teachers. As a junior he even practiced some cool dance-moves to impress the ladies, and tried to find cool pick-up-lines. None of that really did anything for his reputation, except he got the spot as the school mascot for a year, in which he took advantage of his well-practiced dance moves.

At the end of junior year, something happened in his family, which resulted in his mother and father getting a divorce. His father stayed at the enormous manor house, while his mother moved to a rather small apartment in the center of Toronto.

When Rory graduated high school, he wasn’t staying in Canada much longer, since he was accepted at Harvard University. Therefore he moved away from his parents, and into a freshman dorm room at the university.

Rory went to Harvard University. You might’ve guessed it if you read the previous text. It went pretty well. It was another new beginning of a new chapter in life, and Rory was more than ready.
Since high school graduation, he started focusing even more on how to get better socially. Still quite naive, immature, irresponsible, energetic and definitely into girls that are way out of his league. However, he did get better with his pick-up-lines - not a master, but he did get girls to like him sometimes, when he was not too much of a pervert. He tried to live a little more, get loose, and try not to be too nerdy and excited about nerdy stuff, which slightly turned him into being kind of a jerk sometimes - still with a good heart. He has no sense of propriety, still not the brightest kid when we talk outside school, and he is poor sense of direction which results in him walking into places he should not walk into.




Again, college went well, although he did not talk much to Lee while they were apart.
Sad, but that’s how things turn out sometimes, when you’re bad at keeping contact.
Buuuut he did stay in contact with his beloved, slightly crazy mother, who decided to move to New York for a new start, new men in her life, a huge amount of red wine, and the chance to get closer to her beloved son.
