An Elven Tale

There were tales- whimsical, beautiful tales that told of elves with silvery eyes and flowing hair- with lithe and graceful frames, honeyed words and the magic that grace them. Lies, she thinks, with rust-colored hair and eyes the color of mud. Lies, she thinks, as she washes the blood off her hands. Lies, she thinks, as she sees the fear in the mortal’s eyes. There is no beauty to her kind- her people, for lies have hidden them from the eyes of many.
