• Biography

  Cecaelia are a rare people, due to their seclusiveness and their unwillingness to live in communities. Some say it was because of a terrible war years ago, others say Cecaelia are incapable of love.
  
  But the truth is, the waters are dangerous. Many have hunted the Cecaelia to near extinction, so much so, that many Cecaelia believes they are the last. And this story is no different with Marja.
  
  Her birth was a miracle, simply due to the fact that her parents had actually found each other in the massive ocean. Unlike their actual octopi cousins, they couldn't lay hundreds of eggs. No, Cecaelia were limited to one, with the rare chance to have twins, which were always identical. So when the baby Cecaelia was hatched, she was given a name, and cared for for the first 5 years of her life.
  
  At age 5, she was abandoned, the threat of hunting too great, her parents unable to deal with each other. The unnaturalness of it all was so ingrained within them, but not in their daughter.
  
  Even so young, she was fully capable to hunt her own food. Instinct was strong, and many fish fell at her tentacles.
  
  Although her people are not a feral sort, just proud and seclusive, Marja might be considered such. She acts with a deadly precision when hungry, and an incredible gentleness when not.
  
  When not hunting, she rests in the sands and is particularly fond of rays and dolphins. After a dangerous run-in with a great white in her youth, she has developed Selachophobia.
  
  She is generally fearful of other creatures like herself, which is outmatched only by curiosity. That is to say yes, when scared, she will produce a cloud of ink to escape.
