  Pirate, assassin, terrorist, all apt descriptions for Ezrah and others like him. Mercenary works too, though he despises the term. He sees himself as a facilitator, working to make the dreams of criminals, cultists, and crooked governors become a reality for the right price.
  
  Originally bred in a tank as part of a clone army, he fought in a dozen small wars on backwater planets not important enough to have a name beyond the alphanumeric designations they were given by the exploration fleets centuries before. Over a decade, his clone batch was whittled down in combat, until attrition rendered them no longer combat capable. When they were scheduled to be folded into another clone army, the few hundred that survived hijacked the transport and fled the system, stealing their freedom and scattering to the stars.
  
  After the transporter was sold, most of the clones went their separate ways. Each individual share was enough to give them a good start, and while many of his brothers invested in settling down somewhere far away, Ezrah invested in improving himself. He had no desire to settle down, and like a few of his comrades, transitioned from indentured soldier to hired killer fairly easily. It was, after all, the only thing he was good at. Soon he was travelling the stars, moving from place to place with a frequency that would make a gypsy jealous and seeing that the galaxy had so much more to offer than petty wars no one even bothered to name. Powers greater than the human mind could comprehend played at inconceivable games, alien species with technology akin to magic wandered the stars, and yet mere humans had carved out an empire so large he could scarcely wrap his head around its scale. To find his place in the galaxy, he would need a powerful patron. Or even better, several patrons...
