                      "I wish you would call or come visit more often..."

               The one, the only, the crack of oh-so many ribbing jokes, your Mother! Standing at shy under 5'5'' and weighing in at approximately "none of your business", she is the pillar of the family structure, the rock under which innumerable PB&J sandwiches and kisses upon scraped knees are hoisted. Always quick with with a loving smooch or a tender touch, she lives to bring smiles to each and every member of her family. No mischief can escape her nose for trouble and no trickery can slip past her soft and serene parental supervision. Come heck or high-water, Mom will be there with towels and galoshes and a warm cup of cocoa! Ready to stand up to all of the world's difficulties and make things at least a little more bearable. Or at least, that's what she likes to think...

    As much as this old woman tries to keep abreast of every new little detail that sweeps over her family, from toys to taxes to technology to making certain her hubby's clothes are laid out for him the morning, Mom's laundry list of chores isn't getting any shorter. Neither is that tingling in her lower back helping her at all either as she picks up after the tornado of her family has blown its course through the living room...Even so, that soft and supple woman with arms ready to wrap up in an instant-hug, with the lingering mark of lipstick painting itself on foreheads and cheeks and that familiar perfumed 'mom' smell that calls to lilac and cocoa-butter, Mom presses on tirelessly until everything is right with the world. And then out comes Mommy's juice and her newest romance novel, sprawled out on the couch and laughing in her tipsy revelry. Heck, even Mom needs to unwind!
