The Khah's silhouette is streamline and elegant, light-footed and carried with a near silent gait. His complexion is a warm shade of ivory, and his face is beautifully sculpted and almost scar-free, bearing slim features set with a pair of yellow eyes. A single scar is etched vertically upon the left corner of his upper lip, a little less than an inch long and only vaguely noticeable. Plumes of dark brown hair fall to his shoulders, and are often pulled back and away from his face for convenience's sake. His eyelashes are particularly long and bear the same colour as his hair. Despite all his inherent beauty, a person's gaze is naturally towards the top of his head. Dhana'Ra's ears, which were once full and tall above his hair, had since been torn into nought but rags. Only half of his left ear remained, whilst his right ear was almost entirely missing. Though his hearing remains unaffected, the scarring still itches sometimes despite long being completely healed over. The rest of his form remains typical of the Khah'; a dark tail spills from his spine, and his fingers are elongated into refined claws. The unusualness of his upbringing has resulted in the absence of tattoos, instead choosing to sometimes paint his flesh with peculiar patterns often based upon his most recent mood. But even for all his graceful movements and demeanour, his reputation precedes him, and that combined with the terrible scarring on his ears and the violent spark in his eye is more than enough to provoke fear in those even vaguely familiar with his name. Bio :- The elder twin Dhana'Ra was born within a now-collapsed brothel somewhere in B'hărăbû, to a mother who mysteriously passed away when they had barely begun to grow. The brothel remained responsible for them during their youth, and the women who lived there kindly taught them all the academics they knew. But with no mother to stand for them, they were ultimately pushed out into the streets as soon as they approached maturity. The streets of B'hărăbû are unkind, and the twins' sheltering resulted in more trouble than was desired. In effort to shield his sister from the wrath of passing bandits, Dhana'Ra's ears were torn beyond repair in an act of brutal degradation. Money was scarce and begging proved to be almost completely useless, and it didn't take long for his sister to subject herself to prostitution. Dhana'Ra, who bore uncanny attachment to his sister, departed from her company with the promise that he would return with the beginnings of a better life. & return he did. Dhana'Ra spent some time in the company of pirates, running small errands and making a name for himself as an exceptional runner and launderer. It was during one such expedition that he came into contact with a slave trader, and a brief reflection on the past spurred a new vision for the future. He returned to find his sister lost and broken, and their reunion provoked an immense sense of guilt that removed any level of compassion he had ever felt for anyone else. Their savings merged to form a small fortune, and combined with an unbreakable promise to never again separate, this resulted in the installation of the brothel known as The Layflower. The Layflower :- The Layflower is an establishment dedicated entirely to prostitution, managed by Dhana'Ra and maintained by his sister and matron Dhana'Enfys. Though the exterior blends nicely into the darker aesthetic of the region, the interior is remarkably luxurious by design, with great effort being paid into ensuring the comfort of both worker and client. The establishment consists of a main lounge and long hallway, which stems into curtained bedrooms and ends in a small bath towards the rear of the building. The entirety of the interior is decorated with vibrant red and purple flora, and the air is lacquered strongly with incense. Alcohol is available for purchase at premium prices, as compared to the neighbouring taverns. Up to thirty-two workers are housed at any one time, consisting entirely of females from an array of backgrounds and races. Almost all of the workers are plucked from the slave trade, with a small handful being plucked from the streets with promises of shelter. The girls are kept as healthy and happy as possible, with Dhana'Ra visiting the main house often in order to give gifts and reassurance with the purpose of keeping them content and obedient. If a bought slave is particularly desperate or distraught, Dhana'Ra instils false hope within them by promising to let them go, on the condition that they "buy themselves" from him at their original price. This is nigh impossible, as the girls are often extremely expensive and their meagre percentage of earnings means it would take a terribly long time to save up for such a concept. Workers are dismissed or sold back into the market if they die or become to troublesome to manage. Personality :- Dhana'Ra's persona is difficult for others to pin. He is exceptionally charming, dubiously generous, and shares a bond with his sister that borders dangerously close to incest. Prolonged understanding of Dhana'Ra would lead one to conclude that he is utterly incapable of loving another. His love for his sister has mutated into immense possessiveness, and he shares very little truth with anyone else. He gains great pleasure from the company of other women, but any advance he makes is devoid of any romance; he is selfish and self-serving, and makes a game out of seducing others into falling for him. Though he has never truly been in love, he considers himself an expert on the subject, and callously dubs himself as the 'ultimate lover.' Dhana'Ra makes for a good friend, but an absolutely terrifying enemy. Those who wrong him meet their comeuppance at the hands of his shadowy contacts; houses mysteriously set on fire, relatives strangely disappear, and limbs seem to break all by themselves. The Khah' is extremely kindly, except when he isn't. Disobedience amidst his brothel is met with frightening threats and snake-like monologues, but he always manages to convince others that he's doing it for their own good. Because he cares for them. Because they love him. In reality, each of Dhana'Ra's faces are just as frightening as the other. Likes :- Money, women, his sister. Strong-smelling incense. Dislikes :- Unruly clients, disobedience, loss. Poor hygiene. Outward Traits :- Charismatic & charming. Silver tongued, 'generous.' Hidden Traits :- Manipulative, cruel. Hell-bent sense of revenge and point-proving. |
