According to Hatian religious law, in the beginning, the Gods created horses out of moonlight, starlight and the celestial winds. They made the fleet of foot and as strong as a warrior. To the best of them, the gods coated in a glistening sheath of pure silver, making their bodies shimmer and ripple like a star in the inky black sky - Blacksilver Horses.

These horses were, and still do, run across the Great Eastern Plains. They are untamable but, to those who are worthy, will present themselves to be ridden. A Hatian warrior who has ridden a Blacksilver horse is highly revered among the people and respected greatly. The Hatian are know to be excellent horsemen and women, and they are, to society said to: "be born, fight and die in the saddle."

While this is true in some cases, horses are a way of life and the Hatian breed and trade them among one another as currency. They are their most valued possessions and a Hatian warrior will not relinquish the ownership of their prized breeding stock. As such, the Hatian have some of the best, well-kept records of their horses lineage. A Hatian horse breeder can trace their animals back to the first few horses, those that were gifted by the gods.
