Brychan Ap Llewellyn

Born and raised on a small, struggling Welsh farm, Brychan's childhood was one of quiet toil and deep connection to the land. His parents, though loving, were often consumed by the demands of the farm, leaving him largely to the care of his formidable grandmother. It was she who instilled in him the 'Old Ways' – the ancient beliefs, the reverence for nature spirits, the forgotten lore of Wales – a stark contrast to the burgeoning Protestant and Catholic influences of the time. The death of his parents was a brutal blow, swiftly followed by the cold decree of eviction from the land his family had worked for generations. His aunt, a devout Catholic, refused to take him in, seeing his grandmother's influence as a dark, pagan taint. Now, with the Jacobite rising stirring the land, Bry finds himself adrift, with few options and a desperate need to carve out a future that honours the past he carries within him.
