  Limping about like a young pup kicked, this poor, wounded, malnourished animal, standing a horribly UNintimidating six foot two, too weak to merit hostility, and obviously worth one's pity. It was like he was a human version of those commercials to end animal abuse, wide-eyed and whimpering, too pathetic and harmless to fend for himself. In reality, beauty hid a beast, the young man - if we dare even refer to him as a man for more reasons than one - a flawless, pale complexion, his hair a blank snow white, if not a little unkempt, garbed in the skimpiest of patchwork beggar's rags, not even enough cloth to afford any more than shorts. To top off that pity party that was sure to rain upon him, easily an overkill of pathetic, was the cut in the flesh of his ear, a crescent carve that was sure to reinforce the impression of a mangy, helpless stray.
