• Description

  A man possessed of a particularly intimidating stature and build, dark skin blotched with light patches and cracked scar tissue. The product of an unstable desert environment. Built musculature the evidence of an extremely active lifestyle. Leathery, rough skin his shelter from the elements, although still soft to the touch in some places. Scars were apparent on his shoulders, chest, and even to part of his left leg, although not visible. His brown eyes contained within them a depth that held close the memories of his past, but refused to reveal them.
  
  His clothes weren't even close to fancy or modern. They were limited to a simple, ragged shirt more suited for the desert he hailed from rather than cool northern air, and trousers that fit the bill. A fair difference from what he was used to, but he seemed to have little trouble adjusting. His feet were bare and worn by travel, dust and dirt lightening the tough skin. He stayed as true to his roots as he could manage, however much he accommodated the codes of the 'civil'.

• History

  Dozo was born and raised a die-hard desert dweller. A primitive tribe of people gathered in a small camp of huts was what he knew as home. They were called Emset. He spent his early childhood as the offspring of a revered warrior, and was treated as his prodigy. When he could wield a weapon, he was deposited into training post-haste. There was no hesitation in giving him as much preparation to fight with a weapon as possible. Each year he improved more and more, striving to meet the expectations of his father. Constantly, he was out in the camp's arena that was no more than a circle outlined by rocks and sticks of dead plants. He grew quickly, and was soon one of the most skilled sons in all of the tribe. By eleven, he could hold his own against multiple opponents; those opponents being other sons of the tribesmen.
  
  He was aware that there was a growing tension between his tribe and the Otek, the tribe nearest to them. Just before his thirteenth summer, Dozo was training in the arena with the other boys as per their routine. While they were in the midst of their training, a tribe scout ran into the camp to warn the tribe about an approaching force from the Otek tribe. They didn't have enough time to evacuate the women and small children, so Dozo and the other boys were drafted into the militia. In the heat of the battle between the two tribes, many people were killed and wounded, and Dozo was among the wounded along with his father.
  
  After everything was over, the remaining who could walk or were unharmed tended to the wounded and dead. Dozo, being stubborn, was the quickest to jump up and ignore his wounds after being patched up with their desert remedies. Luckily for him, his injuries weren't severe and he was able to heal with ease. His mother was killed in the battle, and his father followed soon after from a serious injury that developed infection.
  
  He'd always been considered different, if only for the patches of light skin that riddled his body. But a year after the incident had taken place, he asked to partake in a ritual that would leave his physical appearance changed forever. Ceremoniously, they marred his flesh with scars and burns over an extended period of time. It put Dozo through a great deal of pain, and eventually he would be grateful for the experience. In the end, he was considered to not be allowed to marry among his tribe or the nearest tribes to them.
  
  It was years before the tribe really recovered, each son of the tribesmen that Dozo had grown up with had found themselves wives from other tribes and brought them into the Emset. Only Dozo was unmarried and without children, as he never liked any women that were presented to him. Instead, Dozo chose to lead a life of celibacy among his tribe, dedicating himself to being a proper warrior. Eventually, his skills even surpassed those of his father before him. His aptitude with a staff and blades were exceptional, although not always enough to save him from acquiring wounds and scars in battle.
  
  After he felt he'd spent long enough in the tribe's populace, he set off on a lone journey. He was eighteen. It was later than he was supposed to leave, but the journey was meant to last a year. In that year, he learned a great deal, and grew into a strong man. Upon his return, however, he announced that he would leave again and not return to the tribe a second time. True to his word, he left, wandering and living off of the land and what money he got from working for the next decade before he learned of more opportunity in a foreign land. Earning the coin, he paid to board a ship, all to wind up in a cold, new place.
