  Pan was born to nomadic people with rich culture. The son of a high marksman, Pan was as close to a prince as one could get without being the chieftan's son. He was raised with high expectations, and thankfully took after his father, despite his coloration- Born as a piebald, he was immediately set out by the shamans to have bad luck. This phased him very little though, and some say the ridicule of his piebald color by his peers only drove him to become better, to attain more, and to live with an air of stoicism that set him above the rest.
  
  No great casualties struck Pan to bring him to slavery. His luck was just plain bad, but his faith in the natural world lends him well to his path as he sees it as a side journey before he will inevitably get home. If he never returns- then he was not meant to. He was captured when the son of the chieftan, his sole friend and personal responsibility as a marksman, took him on a hunting trip. They wandered further than they knew, into lands that were unfamiliar. Cocky in their youth, they felt assured they would easily return, but when days became weeks they grew tired and unalert. This is when they were struck, and the chieftan's son escaped only by Pan's life. Taking on the brunt of the slavers, who cared more for him than his smaller friend, Pan was taken immediately for evaluation and training.
