RumorsSome rumors that have spread around the Tether concerning Cyn, to be used ICly, that may or may not hold some truth:
It has been said that he is part shadow, and if the sunlight touches him, he will disperse into a cloud of smoke.
Some have said that he is not really a Drow at all, but an elf in hiding who paints his skin black to disguise his true identity.
It is rumored that his hair is made of spider’s silk.
His eyes are black because he sold his soul to a powerful demon who offered him limitless wealth and influence.
Rumored to have an obsession for blood, feeding only from young, female virgins after seducing them.
He is allergic to cheap or low quality fabrics.
It has been rumored that he can disfigure others with just the will of wanting to do so.
When angry, his eyes glow an eerie and terrifying red.
He can communicate with spiders, and even turn into one himself.

Current alias || Cyn VonBacabre....Origin || A persona he created to disassociate himself from his people, to better blend among society above ground.
Meaning || Cyn is derived from the common word cynical. Whereas Von, in German, is typically used to signify the nobility of a family. Bacabre is a twist on the word macabre.
Title || Lord VonBacabre.
Nickname(s) || Dark One, Dearest Drow, Cranky Old Elf.
Gender || Male.
Species || Drow.
Subspecies || Abomination....Cyn is not all that he appears to be. Haunted by a harrowing past, it was not by choice that he came to be this way. The abomination that lurks inside of him is deliberately meant to be frightening and extraordinarily destructive if it should ever be let out completely.
It is a side of himself that he struggles with constantly, trying to maintain the creature inside with the remaining part of him that he still considers human, used namely as a way for fleshing out his character. In the very rare event, however, that he is provoked enough to lose all self-control (this would require a considerable amount of plot building), as a fair warning, do not be surprised at the severe consequences this could potentially bring.
As always, I play with everyone’s best interests in mind. I am far more interested in a well-developed plot than I am wreaking havoc on your character. You will see no auto-hitting or otherwise from me, promise. Everything is very much consent-based. I am merely putting this out there as a friendly notice to give players some insight into his character before approaching him.
Apparent age || Mid to late 20's.
Real age || Considerably much older; estimated to be around 600 years though his exact age is unknown.
Voice || Smooth and masculine with a very distinct Elven accent. When angered, his voice has a tendency to come off sounding very sharp, cold and commanding, enunciating his words very decisively.
Relationship status || Unavailable; completely devoted and engaged to Emmalina.
Alignment || Chaotic Neutral; follows his whims, driven by his own ambitions.
Astrological Sign (Western) || Scorpio; passionate, resourceful, loyal. Suspicious, manipulative, unyielding.
Zodiac Sign (Eastern) || Snake; quiet, wise, intuitive. Vain, stingy, shrewd.
Handedness || Ambidextrous; predominately left.
Handwriting || Small, neat and precise, with a noticeable slant and bold flourishes.

Body type || Lanky, lean and appropriately muscled.
Skin tone || A few shades lighter than black.
Complexion || Smooth and even-toned; no facial hair, wrinkles, freckles, etcetera.
Facial characteristics || Borderline androgynous due to Elven origins, but distinctly male; hauntingly beautiful. Oval face, angular jaw, regal cheekbones and noticeably pointed ears.
Hair || Often worn down long. Well-kept, silky and straight; waist length, silver-white in color with a few bangs ending at his jaw. Occasionally worn in a single braid over his shoulder, or loosely tied back with a black ribbon.
Eyes || Elegantly slanted; black.
Eyebrows || Similarly slanted, thin and arched.
Claws || Like polished obsidian; meticulously maintained; razor sharp. Capable of shifting into vicious talons up to six inches in length.
Notable markings || Raised whip-like scars across his shoulders and down his back. Vertical claw marks beginning from his shoulder-blades to stop about mid-back.
Distinguishing features || Pointed ears, high cheekbones, black claws, dark eyes, elongated canines.

Education || Very well educated; high IQ. Spent most of his childhood being tutored in many subjects and only continues to expand that knowledge with age. Quick learner with a penchant for retaining everything he reads.
Phobias || A fear of not waking up; being buried alive; the complete deterioration of his memory; losing what is left of his humanity.
Memory || Eidetic, particularly to sounds. Most often incredibly sharp with the ability to recall even minute details with ease. Though, given certain triggers, there are times where his thoughts are fragmented, or he's lacking knowledge of recent events.
Mental disorders || Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Quirks/Mannerisms || Rarely seen idle; old-fashioned code of conduct and speech patterns; a penchant for appearing out of nowhere; calculated/unreadable expressions; fluid grace; intimidating disposition.

Typical attire || Particularly lavish when the mood strikes him. Elegant, expensive designs. Ruffled poet’s shirts, fitted vests and waistcoats, calf-length frock coats, and black trousers. Knee-high boots. Favors monochrome colors with the occasional dark crimson thrown in. In addition to this, a recently acquired silver necklace with a blood red, tear-shaped pendant. Never seen without it.
Traveling attire || The above with the addition of a heavy black hooded cloak; enchanted garment, capable of warding off, or lessening the effects of magic users.
Personal scent || Lilacs or lilies; he carries no natural scent.
Items collected holding some personal value:
A teal feather || Received from Emmalina at one of their initial encounters. It is rare when he leaves the mansion without it stored safely in a hidden pocket of his coat.
Crystal lilies || A vast assortment of lilies constructed entirely from crystal, forever impervious to his touch. Given to him by none other than Emmalina, he holds this collection dear to his heart.This collection has been destroyed due to unfortunate circumstances.Miraculously, one survived.
Essence of Lyubov || A seemingly ordinary jar. Given to him by Emmalina, obtained from Lyubov herself. Evidently, its contents contain bone meal from the witch. When buried, a harmless apparition of the skin walker appears. While the item had been intended as a device for honing in Cyn’s inner darkness, it is entirely possible he has other plans for its use..

Favored weapon(s) || Typically not one to act on aggression, will often use evasive techniques with his shadow weaving abilities to intimidate. If pressed, he is skilled in all manner of small weapons, daggers specifically and has exceptional talent with a rapier. Fangs and claws are used as a last, and often devastating, resort.
Capable of magic || Yes; with a remarkably high aptitude for learning. While he does not consider himself an accomplished mage, he is neither a novice to the craft. Knows more about magic than he lets on.
Magical resistance || Racial ability; naturally high with a tendency to vary; not immune. His susceptibility to magic is usually a direct result to how fatigued he is at the time.
Weaknesses || Hyper-regenerative blood; synthetic blood; direct sunlight; sharp, piercing sounds; excessively draining himself to the point of blacking out; overconfidence.
Lesser known weaknesses ||...He has a ‘kill switch’ at the back of his neck that reacts only to an excruciating amount of pain. His back is the only area on his body that cannot be mended through regeneration or magical means.
Items carried || A few concealed weapons; money pouch; silver ring with his initials on it. Nothing of particular significance and only what he deems immediately useful when going out.

Flesh craftTestament to the darker nature of what he truly is at the core. An ability in which Cyn can mold flesh, tendon and bone, not limited to himself.
Cyn has built the foundation of his fortune over the years taking in requests for those interested in the subtle or extreme enhancements of their features.. or requests for disfiguring deformities to those so despised by his clients. These days, Cyn refrains from using the craft too much, not wanting to draw unwanted attention to himself. To those that find out about his expertise, however, he often charges a staggering amount for the process, choosing those that pique his interest in some remarkable way.Shadow weavingThere is something unsettling about the way shadows seem drawn to Cyn, clinging to him as though trying to return from whence they came. The true potential of this ability has yet to be seen by anyone still living. And even to him, much of what he can do remains a mystery, limited only by his imagination.AllureWhile he will often deny it, he seems to have an affinity with the undead, and to some extent, all supernatural beings. Creatures so afflicted are often found with an unnatural desire to be close to him, drawn in by an unusual allure that only intensifies upon touch. The resulting effect can be quite addictive for both parties involved if not properly controlled. Though it is often that those so unfortunate become compliant thralls long before they realize the danger of what's happened to them.

Questions, please feel free to ask.EmpathyCyn’s senses are acute to the point that he can literally feel emotions move across his skin as if someone were touching him with them. Given the nature of the emotion, they can either feel hot or cold and can even, if outrageously intense, stagger or cause Cyn to black out. While he cannot read the emotions clearly, years of being so receptive have caused Cyn to generally be able to guess how others are feeling--often times with an eerie accuracy as if he could read thoughts as well.StealthLight on his feet, Cyn can move through most spaces undetected.Reflexes and sensesUnnatural at best; above average. He occasionally has a hard time separating his senses, particularly after waking up, leaving him in a vulnerable state of blur to painstakingly sort them out, one by one. Sight and sound are often the worst of them for him to correct.Rapid healingCyn’s body has a default state that it constantly tries to revert to if otherwise damaged in any way. Broken bones, if not set properly, will often heal wrong without guidance. Depending on the severity of the wound, he may require some time to recharge afterword.Chilled touchCyn’s body temperature runs unnaturally cold. Over the years, he has developed a quirk where plants and flowers wither almost instantly upon being touched.Light and sound sensitivityWhile Cyn has flawless vision in the dark, rooms brightly lit, magical flares, or the direct light from the sun can severely impair his vision. The same goes for extremely high-pitched sounds, depending on the frequency of the tone.InsomniacFragmented dreams of a tormented past often creep up on him through sleep. Due to this, Cyn often goes days, weeks even, without much sleep. When this happens, he is susceptible to blackouts that can potentially lead to memory loss. Small things, typically. Though he has lost some huge gaps in his memory because of this.
Due to recent developments, he rarely requires sleep anymore.
AlchemyA skill obtained through years of extensive study under the masterful thumb of his Grandfather at a very young age. While his knowledge in the field is quite vast, Cyn only ever occasionally creates elixirs and poisons for purchase when the mood strikes him, or for personal favors. More of a hobby than a true passion, though he has been using it more and more lately.LanguageHaving traveled and lived in many parts of the world, Cyn can read and write in countless languages.MusicHaving a very keen ear and a passion for classical music, Cyn is exceptionally talented in a wide variety of musical instruments ranging from the more common piano, violin, cello, and harp, to more exotic varieties from his time spent traveling in the East, such as the koto and shamisen.ArtA collector of fine art, gifted with great talent himself, portraiture being his specialty. Occasionally, he offers up his skills for a modest price.LiteratureHis thirst for knowledge has contributed to the collection of a personal library quite massive in size. He has been known to seek out rare books on dark magic and extinct civilizations.Trinkets and artifactsCyn owns a collection of rare and often one-of-a-kind trinkets from all over the world.
