Yana Volkov

Growing up as an orphan, Yana never knew the love a blood-related mother and father could provide. She had been in foster care since a baby, as her own parents... well, no one knew what happened to them, or if they were even still alive. Though she had been in some good families, none could quell a rather bad behavior. The girl was quite the klepto. She couldn't keep her hands off the shiny, and would often be found in her bedroom with many things that belonged in other places of the house. This continued for many years, well into her early teens before the last family simply dropped her off on the side of the road and abandoned her. Yana never trusted people again.

It was also this act that Yana learned something of herself. She had an ability she didn't think many others to have. She could send herself from one place to another in a split second! The only downfall? She had to be able to see where she was going, or at least have an idea of where she was going. This usually ended up with her in some tight situations, but it also allowed for her to put to better use her klepto-ness... or rather, to worse use. She tended to sneak into places, stealing all the valuables, and then get away without anyone seeing which direction she'd gone.

She did meet a few people along her travels however, one of whom wanted to try to test how skilled her abilities were. It was an attempt to get this person she considered a friend into her bedroom before her parents noticed she was out. But, instead of taking the friend with her when she ported, the friend remained where she was as Yana moved. However, the fact she had been holding onto the friend when she teleported had slowed her movement, causing Yana to become stuck. Her hand was now stuck in the drywall of the bedroom, just above the wrist. A cry of pain alerted her friend's parents that there was someone there, but before they could get into the room, Yana had already teleported back out, her wrist bleeding from where she'd had to free it from the wall. Her friend tried to help her, but she wouldn't let her near. It had been her idea to try, and it had resulted in injury that could have ended up much worse.

Many years passed, with Yana working on her own and not letting others know about her abilities. She had also turned a new leaf, and would try to overcome the issue she'd had for many years of her childhood. Instead of sneaking into places to steal things, she would stay in businesses after hours to set off the alarms for would-be thieves. Many businesses were spared thousands of dollars thanks to a 'faceless voice that hadn't been there before, and had disappeared as quickly as it had appeared.' She became known as a ghost, though none would realize that the beautiful woman with brunette hair and sky blue eyes walking down the street was one in the same.

Making her way to the west part of the states, she found herself in California... this state had seen its fair share of thefts, right? Perhaps she could offer up her services here? It was worth a try, at least. Away she would drift to a city by the name of San Angeles... in hopes of finding work.
