• History

  In short, his mother died in childbirth (quadruplets); the four of them lived with their father for some time, and they travelled on the road in a large caravan, performing for money. Gregory was often paired with Scarlet for Acts (of dancing, some singing, usually involving tambourines), as of the four of them, they appeared the most similar in colourings and markings (and most resembled their mother).
  
  They traveled both Kasuria and later the Olde World, although ultimately returning to Kasuria where, when Gregory and his sisters reached adulthood, they disbanded their travelling family business; it was around this time their father disappeared and was never heard from again. The only family member Gregory has ever been able to keep (fairly) consistent contact with is Scarlet, who owns a bar and inn on a nice plot of land, which she inherited from their mother (and was originally supposed to go to Greg, who turned it down).
  
  Since disbanding the family 'act', the caravan they once lived in has been left to rot on Scarlet's land. Gregory himself has travelled both alone and with others--joining bands of gypsies and travelling performers for years at a time before ultimately setting out on his own again. As of most recently, he has been travelling solo for the past few years.
  
  Cassandra is about as frivolous and wild-spirited as Greg (perhaps even more so!) and although Scarlet says she does check in with her from time to time, Gregory has not seen her face-to-face for many years. Marble, Gregory's eldest sister, died at the hands of another a few seasons back; however, Gregory draws strength from the knowledge that she now dances with the Primes.
  
  Scarlet and Marble's names are courtesy of Ophelia shortly before her death; Gregory and Cassandra were named by their father. The surname "Lavender" is dubious at best; Khenti understood it to be Ophelia's surname, at least the one she gave, although it was likely a fabrication, if not a miscommunication. Khenti was illiterate in Kasurian, and so were his children, although he attempted to pass on a rudimentary understanding of his native language, Criptic.
  
  The quadruplets are related to the Veldors, just a few generations back.
