• Starbucks Break

  "How do you write that again?" A girl with a green apron asked, standing behind a counter, holding a black marker in one hand and a coffee cup in the other.
  
  "L-a-t-o-r-r-e." A woman in her 20's responded, as each letter came out slowly and smoothly from her bright pink lips.
  
  The girl in the apron nodded, and handed to Julia the coffee. As Julia reached her table and sat down, she looked at the cup. 'Letoare'.
  
  Julia sighed.
  
  "Don't sweat it Jules." Marie said, sipping from her own cup. "One day they are going to get it right."
  Julia sighed again, and took her round pink lens glasses off, setting them on the table. One quick movement with her hand, taking away a few bangs from her bob cut, and her blue eyes were now fully visible, brimming with anger and disappointment.
  
  "From now on i'm just gonna say Julia. I don't even know why i bother with my last name anymore." Julia responded, taking a sip from her coffee.
  
  "I blame it on the hair." Marie replied. "It's too distracting. Not saying that it doesn't fit you but, the 80's are over don't you think? Is it even blue? Why isn't it blue?"
  
  Julia sighed again. "We'v been over this. It's green mint. And if you think the 80's died, well, you couldn't be more wrong. There are many places and people that still rock that style, and i am one of them." She proclaimed proudly.
  
  "If you say so." Marie said as she checked her phone. 10:43 AM. "Oh shit. It's late. I gotta punch in at eleven AM" Marie claimed as she got up from her chair quickly. One last long sip from her cup, and she waved her hand towards Julia, leaving through the door.
  
  'Why would you even text me to get coffee with you if we were going to stay only ten minutes...' Julia thought, finishing her coffee as well, and leaving the Starbucks while putting the sunglasses back on.
