• Background

  As a child, he grew up believing he was an accident. He should never have been born; he was a waste of space in his parents' house. When his father was home from his business trips, he'd use Damon as a footstool and an ashtray and fed him uneaten table scraps seasoned with cigarette ash. His mother, absorbed by the liquor bottle and needle, forgot Damon even existed.
  Damon coped by coming up with his first imaginary friend, Canaan. Canaan was his best friend and superhero. He felt no pain and enjoyed creating adventures and chaos for Damon. As he grew older, so did Canaan's rebellious nature to the point where he'd get Damon in trouble. They went from innocently coloring on the walls to playfully digging up the yard and making 'mud pies' in the oven to stealing the neighbor's cat and bury it alive or putting motor oil in his father's shampoo bottle. His father would then punish him by whipping him with his biggest belt or his slingblade.
  To cope with his mother's neglect, Damon made another imaginary friend, Ana. She promised to keep Canaan's shenanigans in check and was the mother Damon always wished he had. She baked delicious cakes and dinners for him when his parents were gone, mended his tattered clothes and gave him encouraging advice and support only a loving mother could give him. Because of Ana's coddling, Damon's first true alters made his debut during school. Mikah, a perpetual five-year-old, followed by Baza, his pet. Mikah is the same age Damon was when his abuse first began but shows the outgoing, happy-go-lucky personality Damon could never have, unless Mikah doesn't get his way. Then he'd throw a tantrum for all to see. Baza, meaning Base, is monster that functions literally on basic instinct of fight or flight. He would do anything to protect Mikah and thusly protect Damon.
  On Damon's sixteenth birthday, his father saw him baking a cake and talking to Ana. Not knowing he was really gay, he called Damon a fag and that was when he finally snapped. Canaan became his third true alter and stabbed Damon's father sixteen times. He woke up laying on top of his father's bloody body and his mother's horrified face said it all. She officially disowned him and the police took him away for manslaughter.
  Dr. Reder of the Krieger Mental Institute was on his case and insisted the judge give him custody. There he was diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder. Through a series of experiments and various drugs, his alters became more powerful, each with their own special abilities and physical traits (See Basic Info for Physical Traits).
  As time goes on, Damon slowly loses not just his memory while any of the alters are out but his own personal memories, feeling like he's losing himself altogether. And unbeknownst to Damon, Dr. Reder, a discharged military scientist, wants to merge all these alters into one supersoldier.
  After two years of good behavior and numerous experiments, Dr. Reder let him out into the real world under strict observation using a metal brace that monitors his health levels and transitions. He enrolled at the Brooklyn Liberal Arts University to study arts where he met Garret McRae. According to Garret, he was unaffected by the alters' special abilities. After many trials and adventures, the two became inseparable, even when he had to return to Krieger.
