Tallen Dracul

Shoulder-length black hair - smooth and soft to the touch - and of fair complexion, Tallen bears angular features marked by soft lines and a supernal quality in his presence in spite of an otherwise ordinary appearance. Perhaps his most noteworthy feature, Tallen's sharp, electric green eyes seem to shine with a luminescent glow that draws one in with their penetrating gaze and his lips are often marked with a soft, beguiling smile.

Beneath often semi-formal attire - dark slacks or meticulously maintained jeans and a plethora of collared shirts varying in materials from silk to cotton - one will find the deceptively frail appearance of his form to be surprisingly toned but still belying the supernatural strength bestowed by the cursed blood flowing through his veins; a strength he often forgoes in favor of more genteel mannerisms to resolve strife and potential conflict - needless violence (purposeless violence, especially when one clearly had an advantage beyond fair) abhorrent in his eyes.

Overall, Tallen presents a highly approachable, accepting and amicable personality - drawing in others with charm and confidence as much as genuine affection. His posture is nothing but relaxed and calm - movement deliberate and graceful yet organic. And while the displays may well reflect his heart, there is another side to the coin: Tallen is just as capable of cruelty and great depravity as he is of earnest and genuine love. There is a beast that lurks in the heart of every vampyre - a beast that even he must occasionally concede to in spite of his more altruistic intents. Thankfully, this brutal nature more often finds release on those more capable of surviving - other supernatural beings, especially vampires - these sadistic tendencies.

That said: while nearly every vampire has two faces he/she presents the world, the veil of poise and grace, confidence and kindness is borne like no other by those of House Dracul. It hides the rabid maw of madness that curses their particular bloodline, and this mask has become an invaluable tool. Madness does not always howl, however, sometimes it whispers much like Cain’s guilt whispers always in his ears to break the progenitor’s sanity. For Tallen, it is indeed a whispering madness (a madness he often attempts to atone for) vented through his occasional hysteria, his sexual appetites, and in his sadistic tendencies with his fellow supernatural beings - particularly other immortals; this madness does come with its gifts as he ages.

Tallen, like other older vampyres of his line, can cause others to hear the whispers of guilt that plagues his family - manipulating their thoughts and emotions as much as drive them (temporarily but more often permanently) deep into madness. This gift has been seen strictly in House Dracul but sometimes skips individuals and leaves them unable to ever harness the gift of madness to its fullest extent - thus preventing them from ever truly being able to “see the big picture”. (Those who cannot harness the madness also lack the ability to feel the auras of others while hiding their own, which has kept many a Dracul alive and made the members of the House well-known for being hard to find when they don’t want to be found.)

All aside, where most vampyres have fallen into a con-artist’s way of living - often an intricate web of lies so carefully kept and maintained that it would put any mortal politician to shame - Tallen has developed what many elders deem as a "reckless" way of life. He prefers honesty and directness in most circumstances - forgoing ghouling mortals to bring them into the circle whenever possible - but knows full well when it is wisest to give as little information as possible as well as which secrets to keep and from whom. In truth, it has been argued on several occasions to The Council that Tallen is in breech of the very Veil he is also charged to enforce though such outcries are often dismissed due to lack of evidence of any detrimental affect to their way of life as much as the fact many of these demands for punishment are made by voices belonging to a house known to stand at odds with the Draculs in general.
