• Abilities/Special Qualities

  Teleportation
  John, like all Varians, has the ability to teleport through molecular compression. He is able to compress his molecules and then re-expand elsewhere.
  High Bone Density
  Varians have a bone structure far denser then that of a human. The downside is they are a bit heavier. They can block blades from slicing through them. Unfortunately, the fleshy parts of him are still as vulnerable as a normal creature.
  Heightened Senses
  Varian hearing, smell, and taste are far more acute then that of a human.
  Zero nerve-lag
  There is no delay between nerves in the Varian body. A human has a reaction time of 0.75s. Because Varians have no lag between nerves, they can react to something as soon as they see it, leaving an astounding 0.01s reaction time.
  Limb Regrowth
  Varians grow back their limbs. If a Varian loses an arm, leg, or tail, they can regrow it in a matter of weeks. The most fit of Varians can accomplish this feat in about a month, and others up to a year. If the head if removed from the body, it won't grow back. The Varian has to be alive for it to work.

• Weaknesses

  The Varian teleportation ability has a few major drawbacks. The molecular compression is hard on the body, especially the heart. A Varian's heart must work harder for every teleport. It is possible for a Varian to teleport too far and/or often and kill itself. That being said, there is also a range limit on it, depending on the individual. Some can teleport 10 times for about 20 yards or 1 time for 100 yards, and others can only teleport 5 times for 20 yards and 1 for about 50. Varians cannot teleport through any objects with a higher density then their bone structure or anything charged with electricity. John in particular can go 10 teleports at quite a long distance, almost 30 yards. John also has PTSD which can pose an issue if his 'other side' is let out. Another thing that can be a flaw is his over-lenient nature. He takes it personally whenever lives are lost and won't hesitate to spare someone's life if he can. He also has difficulty with most firearms, which makes him ineffective in most combat situations.
