Intro

• Description

  She’s cynical and mean, and often has a bark much worse than her bite. She puts up a lot of walls to be an ass, though she’s very caring about people she likes and tries to protect them in her own twisted ways. Romantically she’s fairly closed off, but she opens up after some time, but once she opens up she falls head over heals, fast. She’s straight.
  
  She has a strong tie to the local mafia, and while the criminals she works for are notorious, she herself is more or less a face in the crowd, liking to keep how high-ranking she is to herself and not make a name for herself, though trouble still finds a way to surround her, most of the time.
  
  She likes to keep her head down and out of trouble, if she can – which she doesn’t have the best luck at. She’s a thief and pickpocket, and sometimes worse, if she needs to be - and often turns up in the most unexpected places. Her moral compass is flexible, and she’s an excellent liar. She likes to consider herself a realist with no belief in anything past herself. She’s very smart, despite sometimes acting otherwise, and loves math with a passion. She's curious enough to make a good guess she is the cat who was killed with it. Much, much too curious for her own good.

• History

  The end of her childhood and her teenage years were spent in the poor, dangerous area of Down Brook - or, for RP’s sake, any larger city of your choosing. She generally likes to keep everything on first name basis, and can be harsh, mean, and cynical. She’s rude and on edge, all the time.
  
  The reason she likes to keep things on first name basis is due to her last name being Hilyard - the name of a prominent local politician. Most every-day person who doesn’t care about local news very much wouldn’t know who he was, but those who know a little more would know he’s a businessman who is known for being crooked, though nothing has ever been pinned on him. People generally think of him as someone bad to be on the wrong side of things - from important things going missing to when he’s involved, money going missing, elections being won by mysterious means or even people dying at inconvenient times, no one quite knows how he does it, but people are willing to pay him for it nonetheless. Kari, of course, is involved in this.
  
  She, at times, is involved in more higher-class things, such as nobleman's’ parties, political gatherings, and other high class events. She can be used to weasel into places of importance, if there's some sort of gain to be made from it. RP can pick up from this point in her life, perhaps!
  
  From there, some things happen with her family and her life, and she gets away from it all. She runs off by herself, with nothing but her backpack to her name. From there she travels around, town to town, convinced her family will find her if she stops for too long. She, at this point in her life, leads a nomadic, homeless lifestyle. RP can pick up here as well!

• RP ideas

  Magic works well with her - she's not magical herself, but she's not a stranger to it! However modern settings work just fine, as do futuristic ones, or a mix! I have a few RP prompts, and if you're interested at all, don't hesitate to message me!
