The Dragon's Rest

  • The Entrance

    touhou_drawn_by_benitama__sample-fab27f31cbe630cf59d359b698213a1e.jpg The entrance area of the Dragon's Rest was designed after the entrance to the Goddess' shrine that Kikiyo originally served. While it appears to be out in the middle of nowhere, but it was planed out. She bought a great deal of land on the edge of the city to allow her freedom of creation with out worrying about the noise or worrying about people Set into the side of a series of massive, complex caverns and tunnels. The surrounding area is a thick, dense forest and there are a number of lakes and ponds all over the place, aiding to the aesthetics of the location.

  • Entrance Cavern, Aquatic rest.

    After coming through the entrance, and a short walk, one will enter a large cavern near the surface, which draws water from a river above and pours out into an underground river. The cavern is open, allowing a number of wild avian creatures to come and go, though a special array have been set up on the surface to ensure that nothing large and hostile does not make it into the cavern, for the safety of the patrons. The lake present is deep enough to swim in, but it is high advised against as some of the local fish may or may not enjoy the taste of land dwelling creatures.

  • Carven Path

    The 'entry path' into the main area for the tavern. The cavern path was thought to be created by either some great force of water, or by a mining team. Though many years of no foot traffic has left it looking this way, minus the path cleared out to allow patrons to come and go from the Dragon's Rest.

  • The Dragon's Rest

While it looks like something out of an old movie, and a bandits hideout, Kikiyo liked the design and left it as is. The Tavern dose offer room and board, and the entire cavern is part of the tavern. The water below varies in temperature depending on location thanks to the addition of magical crystals set into the sandy bottom and fixed in place to act as a heating stone. The water is natural cool, so only the crystals are used to heat the water in some locations to act like a 'hot springs'
