The Dream, the Home
The main entrance of the home is small and contains two bookshelves. The only other thing of note is the planter. Inside are some beautiful tiger lilies, carefully cared for. The stone planter is taken care of by a professional who makes sure the lilies are always healthy and replaces them as they are damaged or begin to wilt.
The walls are made of a beautiful wood, sanded to a smooth finished. There are four torches that are too high for a normal person to reach and light. Hidden beside the bookshelf is a ladder tall enough to reach them and the top of the bookshelf.
A thick, plush carpet, covers the floor. The dark red-brown colour is a consistent motif in the home.
The hall between the rooms is too wide to be considered a hall all on its own. Instead, it is a room that acts as a portal between most of the rooms.
The room contains four paintings. Two are smaller, single panel paintings. The other two are large triptych paintings. While none have been painted by Gryta, she has pride in her taste. This is a common motif that follows through the other rooms.
None of the doors are labeled, the slaves are expected to know where to go. One or two moments of getting lost will be tolerated, beyond the bedrooms which are at the upper area of the hall.
The slave chambers were made in a large section of the home that is built into the side of the mountain, some of the rock and rubble still contained within the room and acting as a barrier between the male and female side of the room.
There is a small railing that protects a sleepy slave from falling into a pit in the floor. The hole itself is not actively referred to as the "Punishment Room", but it is understood that if a more extreme punishment is needed slaves will be sent there. There is a ladder extending down, but it is frequently removed. This is to stop slaves from getting too curious and spending time down there.
Each slave has several things set out for them. There is a chest where they will keep clothing and other trinkets. A desk is provided for all, where they can work on their journal or do any other work; to compliment this there is a thin pillow to sit on. The beds have a thin feather mattress, not really large enough to be luxurious, but enough that the floor is not uncomfortable. A thick wool blanket is provided to keep slaves warm in the night.
Other features in the room include two fireplaces, two game boards, two tables where food is provided, two places to clean and easel in the corner.
Punishment
A small, dank, dark room. It is musty and smells of earth and some sort of fungi grows in the corner.
There is a chest that is currently empty in one corner. There is a single fur resting on the ground to sleep on, but there is also the crossbar; sleeping might not be an option for a slave placed down here. There are tools there, but it is well known that the Grafin does not believe in whips and other devices for torture. Who knows why it was put in there.
A large room with more plush red carpet. The room itself is a bit cluttered looking with a number of serving tables along one side, three bookshelves, and two small tables. One is surrounded by large, comfortable chairs, the others circled with stools. There are paintings all over the walls and a large tapestry. Two easels are placed nearly diagonal from one another. Finally, there is the large lion crest made with white stone and blue details.
The room is meant for hosting, but given how few people Gryta knows, most of the tables and chairs are in storage for now. There have been considerations for the room to be expanded or another room added to the side. If there are guest rooms built, they have been planned to move off of this room or the main entrance.
The kitchen is warm with two ovens on opposite sides of the same wall. There are a number of shelves of food. There are two large bowls of water and plenty of tables to work off of. The three cabinets contain the slaves' dishes, the free peoples' dishes, and the fine china.
Along one wall there is a hole in the floor and a mass of dirt - a small wine cellar is being planned, though construction is slow. There is a cask of brandy as well as a small area for wine which is Dowid's drink of choice.
Bedrooms
Dowid's bedroom is just as dark as his personality. Blood red carpet compliments the black bed. Tools of torture and more wine sit in his room, waiting to be used, though the open bible nearby is a good indication of the man he presents as reality.
Gryta's room is decorated with soft white carpet and the main attraction is the delicate tea set in the center of the room. Three chests contain her clothing, though one is always locked.
Molly's room is just off of Gryta's. This is so she can attend to the needs of her sister. The room is decorated with red carpet and a large plush bed that is barely more than a large cushion. A hanging cushion acts as a seat and there is a desk for her to use as well.
