  There is an assortment of weapons that Borealis uses:

  
  

  Recurve Bow

  
  This is perhaps her most prominent weapon. As a huntress, she is constantly seen with the powerful bow. True to the fashion of all recurve bows, the arms of the weapon gently curve outward at the tips, allowing for greater power than longbows. The arms are made of polished hickory wood, while the riser is crafted from dark slabs of blackwood. It is a weapon of terrible beauty. When not in use, Borealis keeps it strapped to her back with her quiver of black-feathered arrows. These she keeps exactly twenty-four of at all times, receiving or creating more after a hunt, if it is needed.

  Hunting Knives

  
  Borealis wears an impressive collection of differing types of hunting knives all over her person. There are five total, though three of them are hidden strategically where they might quickly be at hand in a moment of need. The other two she wears in scabbards on the insides of both forearms. Her knives' blades are either saw-toothed, made for sawing or hacking, or long and graceful, made for stabbing or slicing neatly through things. None of the blades are longer than a hand, from the bottom of the palm to the tip of the middle finger.

  Throwing Knives

  
  
  Though not as proficient with these as she is with the previous two weapons, Borealis carries three simple throwing knives on a belt at her right hip. These weapons are composed of a single piece of steel and have no handle, only a black leather grip opposing the silver blade. They are all identical, perfectly balanced, and dulled to prevent any cuts while throwing. However, when thrown with speed and accuracy, the knives can be deadly.

  Short Sword

  
  
  Lastly, Borealis carries a durable, eighteen-inch short sword at her left hip. It is kept in a plain black leather scabbard when she is not using it, which is common practice for she prefers ranged battle to tactile combat. The sword, like her throwing knives, is simple but effective. Though she is not as competent with it as she would like to be, the huntress cares for it as she does her bow, and it is kept unfailingly in perfect condition. It is crafted, also like the throwing knives, out of steel. A black leather grip is settled between a dark brass cross-guard and diamond-shaped pommel.

• Knapsack

  

  Borealis keeps several items in the worn, deerskin knapsack that hangs at her side:

  
  

  Wallet

  A wallet is pretty simple. Collected from those she's hunted or earned from toiling for pay, whether it be working as a bounty hunter or as a farmhand, Borealis keeps a collection of coins with her at all times.

  
  
  

  Mother's Swan Figurine

  Plucked from the ashes of her home, Borealis keeps a small, delicate, marble swan crafted in far away lands. It belonged to her mother, and it now serves as a token by which to remember her and remind Borealis of her purpose and motives. So far, the huntress has kept it unblemished.

  
  
  

  Whittling Knife

  A long, narrow pocket conceals the sharpened blade of a whittling knife. This knife is primarily used to fashion arrow shafts after a hunt in which one or more arrows are either lost or broken. The fletching and heads are created by other means, of course.

  
  
  

  Flint and Steel

  The idea is rudimentary. The trick is getting the sparks to catch. However, just as Borealis is accustomed to where and how to strike the rocks, she is also accustomed to starting fires.

  
  
  

  Manuscripts Regarding the Places Traveled

  Borealis finds it terribly important to first learn of the place she is going before she goes there. The huntress therefore carries with her various manuscripts, though her means of acquiring them are often questionable. Some places have more information than others, and some virtually none at all. It simply depends on the place.

  
  
  

  Journal, Quill, and Ink Pot

  Solely for the purpose of recording encounters with beasts, this journal has nothing to do with feelings. At the moment, it is relatively empty but for a few vague myths and crude sketches.

  
  
  

  Any Special Supplies

  Finally, Borealis carries any special supplies that might be needed for the terrain or prey. Sometimes there is nothing to bring, and sometimes there is an abundance.
