    Afriel is a pathological liar with a deep fear of being himself, encumbered with extremely variable reactions to anything and everything. He has a disillusioned view of other people that varies by the day and is not very anchored in reality as he has a failing memory, making him more visibly hypocritical to those he's lied to.
