Al'Athon

Abilities

• Touch of Divinity- Al’Athon gained his reputation for being able to slay evil spirits such as Deamhans. Due to this, he had studied new ways to make it easier for him to accomplish tasks that involved his area of expertise. In his studies, he found a way to focus all of his “Divine Magic”, as he called it, into one point on his body and cause it to create an explosive wave upon contact with anything with evil intentions or was evil itself. He would be immune to the explosive wave due to his own divinity.
  
  Judgement- With the knowledge that not all of his opponents would be spirits, he created a type of hypnotic magic which he named “Judgement”. Those exposed to it would be forced into a world within their mind which they would have to face their “sins”. The definition of a sin would vary from individual to individual, a sin would mean something that, according to their morals, was very wrong. This fictional world would cause them to be on the receiving end of the sin and it would last until the victim learned to forgive themself for what they have done. Some would say that this ability, when all was said and done, would be more of a blessing to whoever is affected by it. This shows Al’Athon’s compassion, even for his enemies. This magic was a bit tricky to apply as it would require him to have his enemy look straight into on or both of his eyes, this would make it rather difficult for him to use in every battle.
  
  Summoning Magic- The Arlanon clan of elves was one of the few clans in the forests whose mages focused on magic which revolved around nature and the life in it. One brand of this magic involved summoning manifestations of their magical energy as animals they have encountered in the wild. When he was appointed protector of Tír na nÓg, he found a way to expand on this magic to make it more powerful. Normally, these magical beasts would not last very long and would require a constant stream of magic to remain, this drained the caster very quickly, leaving them unable to cast other spells. Al’Athon found a way to summon the spirits of animals in Tír na nÓg to the physical plane. This way, it would not require a constant supply of his magic energy, allowing him to save it for other spells and incantations. The animals which he can summon are as follows:
  Horses- The breed of horse will vary, but the price for summoning a horse is 5% of his magical energy.
  Wolves- The breed of wolf summoned is always a grey wolf, the price of summoning one is 10% of his magical energy.
  Dragons- The most fearsome of all the creatures in his summoning arsenal, he has the possibility of summoning one of the three high dragons for half of his magical energy.
  
  Nature’s Vengeance- A spell passed down from keeper to keeper of the Arlanon clan. As the home of the clan was in the forest, the magic taught was heavily based upon nature. This spell was no exception to that rule. It involved using magical energy to shape the trees to one’s desire. Al’Athon had discovered a way to bridge the roots of trees in Tír na nÓg to the plane of the living in the absence of trees in the area he was. This, of course caused him to use more magical energy than if he was simply molding trees around him. There was an added benefit to using the roots of trees from another world as they were much harder to burn through and were much sturdier than normal trees. To mold the trees around him would cost 5% of his magical energy per every metre added to the tree or every metre the tree is bent out of shape. The cost is 10% to summon 20 metres of roots from Tír na nÓg and another 10% for every metre added or every metre it is bent out of shape.

• The thunder dragon, Vinsomer was a dragon slain by humans centuries before the time of Al’Athon. Shorter than most other dragons, Vinsomer was only twenty feet in total tail to head length and measured of roughly sixty feet from wing to wing. Though it is considered the weakest of the three high dragons, Vinsomer was a fearsome opponent for the dragonslayers of that time. Its scales were soft, allowing for easy stabbing, however it gave off a field of thunder which shocked whatever came into contact with it.

  Vinsomer

• As the name implies, this dragon was a dragon which specialised in the element of frost. The most recent dragon to be slain by human dragonslayers, this dragon, when alive, was the second most powerful of the high dragons. With scales that were strong, but colder than death, this dragon was not easily stabbed, but could have its scales shattered with great battle hammers and objects of the sort. About average in length, this dragon was around thirty feet from head to tail and measured seventy-five feet from wing to wing.

  Frost Dragon

• Another self-explanatory name, this dragon specialised in the element of fire. It was a rampaging beast that was a friend to elves but took the lives of countless humans. The reason for this was lost to time. The dragon’s scales were easily punctured as they were rather soft, however, air around the dragon was hot enough to melt through most weapons which tried to attack it, which made it have to be slain with the use of several human frost mages.
