Octavius' story can be a bit confusing because of the twists and turns it has taken the past few years.
This half Korean man actually grew up in a small town in Italy at first with his grandmother. His parents had gone through a tragic accident when he was very young and so the caring and very loving woman had taken him in like he was her son. Despite the memories of the accident Octavius grew up pretty well. He was bullied a little for his Asian looks but that was about it. Also from very young he took up dancing as it became his way of burning off steam after people having thrown insults at him.
However, at the same time he took up psychology, and later went into studies to become a detective. Octavius felt bad for only dancing and only having passion for dance as he hadn't found a passion for any subjects in school, but psychology was something he could get behind, and he wanted to make the world a better place.
The more he dived into his studies to graduate successfully into the police force, the more did he lose the art of dance. Dance was always in him, but he achieved less and less time to do what he really loved, and set it aside for his new occupation that meant that he had to leave to move to the states. It hurt so bad to leave his grandmother behind, but she had kissed his cheek, given him a hug, and had told him that she was very proud of him, and that he should go out there into the big bad world, and do his best.
Octavius spent three years as a detective, solving crimes as good as he could, and he enjoyed his job and was happy that his grandmother was proud of him. But then something unexpected happened; he got into a car accident. All the memories of his parents' accident when he was a child came back to him, and everyone else who knew him. It was almost as if the universe was trying to tell him something. His parents had gone through this, and now him, and they had died. Did that mean he was gonna die??
No, he didn't die. Luckily he survived, but he got hurt really really bad to the point where he had to go into rehab, and it broke him. He got fired because he and the doctors weren't sure when he would be able to find his way back to work, and now his workplace were just giving him money for being sick.
After losing his occupation, something he had worked for so damn hard for so many years, Octavius felt alone most of all. He didn't really trust anyone here, only his grandmother and she wasn't here, but back in Italy, the place the knew best and the only thing that SCREAMED home to him.
So he went back home and he couldn't be happier to see that big smile on his grandmother's face when she greeted him at the door. It was everything he could ever ask for!! She helped him recover and get back on his feet, and he realised just how much he had missed his home, his life here, as well as his dancing, the only thing that had ever tickled his senses.
Sadly it only took half a year before she died. It broke Octavius. He had spent so long away from home...and for what?? To prove a point. To try and be happy. To make her proud. All it had given him was an accident no one knew if he could ever get over, and now his grandmother's death, the only person he had ever truly cared for and been close to. To him she was his mother, not his grandmother.
After her death he took over the cottage and decided to do everything himself. Now he lives all alone in that beautiful cottage in a small town in Italy, surrounded by nature and flowers rocking in the wind, and he also works in a flower shop in the town square to earn enough money to keep everything going. The cottage is also open for tourists and whoever else would need a place to stay as he has a spare room on the second floor. And during dark nights there will be glowing lights in the windows of the cottage while a dark and tall shadow dances the night away.....
