• Biography

  Tegan was always a curious girl, she was a girl born of the sea, the Sea of Alakaide. Even when she was young she had always wondered what life on land would be like. Her daydreams seemed so silly to her, her Father was a loving, but strict man, and would never allow her anywhere near the surface, let alone land.
  
  Some of her sisters however were quite the troublemakers. They took pleasure in sneaking off at unholy hours of the night to seduce sea travelers (mainly men) and lead them astray with their voices. Their Söngur dauðans, also known as their Death Song was an aggregate of unique musical notes sung all at once that would cause one to slowly lose their mind.
  
  Hundreds of ships were crashed this way, many men and women were lost, though not all of the men and women had good intentions, Tegan still couldn’t help but to feel guilty. Even though she never took part in singing, she still stood by and watched. The ones that survived the ship crash were pulled underwater and sung to until they were in a deep trance that would keep them calm.
  
  Tegan could remember her sisters smiling, laughing as the humans who were pulled under stared at them in awe, that’s all they could really do, they didn’t even struggle, and then they were gone, the life in their eyes were gone. It went on like this for years until Tegan was the age of eighteen. Pirates from the world above found her homeland.
  
  Some of her sisters were taken, there were rumors about Mermaid tears being the answer, the cure to sickness and wounds. Of course, Tegan didn’t believe a word of it, the whole thing sounded ridiculous, but the attacks got worse, one by one her sisters were pulled from the sea, something had to be done!
  
  Her Father wanted to shelter her, he didn’t trust the world above, Tegan decided to take things into her own hands. She was forced to seek help from a sea witch who agreed to create a necklace for her that would allow her to walk on land, but everything comes with a price. There was no going back Tegan needed to be on land, she needed to find the pirate who was behind the kidnappings, she needed to find a specific book of
  spells (Glamour Magic) that would allow her to hide her homeland so that no one, no pirate could ever find it again.
