Biography

  Amara was born the child of her father a Half Doman - Half Garlean hyur, and her mother a Xaela Female of the Dotharl tribe. She and her family lived together in a remote area of Yanxia, due to her mother not wanting to be far from the Azim Steppe. Amara was around 10 when the Garlean invasion, and occupation of Othard had begun. Terrified for their child's future her parents decided to flee for the safety of the steppe, her father staying behind to guard the rear, was eventually cut down by the horrible machinations of the Empire. Amara now only with her mother to guide her made it to the pathway to the steppe, only to have her mother struck by Garlean firearms in the back. Shrugging off the damage her mother cast a quick Flare immolating the foot soldiers, and limped the rest of the way with Amara in tow. Finally crossing over into the ancestral home of her people, her mother's constitution finally gave out, collapsed onto the green fields. Her mother's breaths grew shallow, and heavy as she held her daughter close, eventually passing on from this world to the next.
  
  Now an orphan, Amara attempted to cross the steppe, seeking the Dotharl tribe that her mother belonged to. Her body weakened from fatigue, and trauma she passed out not far from a waypoint used by the hunters of the steppe. Upon waking she turned to see multiple darker blue skinned Xaela much like herself, and she breathed a breath of relief. She had made it and this was to be her home for the next several years.
  
  Years passed and Amara grew into her own as a member of the tribe. Eventually taking up a katana, and learning the ways of a Samurai from an old blades master. As with most things, and people of her age she began to think of the world outside the steppe, making the decision to set off in the night seeking a place her father had visited once he called it Eorzea. Bound and determined to see this new land she made her way to the Ruby Sea, and upon crossing the waters by hijacking a small fishing vessel she found her self in the city of Kugane. There she took up a job helping around the local inns until she scraped enough money to pay for a boat to Limsa Lominsa, only to lose it all to a filthy pickpocket. Left with no other choice she sneakily stowed away on a ship in it's cargo hold, as it set sail for her destination.
  
  The rough waters tossed and turned the vessel as days and weeks went by. Amara had managed to stay fed by leeching off a bit of food she pilfered from the crew. Eventually a member of the crew tasked with taking inventory discovered her hiding spot. Furious with the stowaway, he began to strike Amara, beating her within a inch of her life, leaving her slouched on the floor. He turned to leave to inform the captain,and as he did Amara leaped drawing her blade, slicing him deeply across the chest, shades of crimson pooling everywhere. It wasn't long before the rest of the crew arrived overpowering her, forcing her onto the floor as the captain approached. After a few minutes of beating, and harsh words the captain gave the crew permission to do with her as they pleased. The torment went on for days as Amara's body neared it's breaking point. She eventually managed to free herself from her shackles, retrieved her katana, and made her way about the ship slitting the throats of every man on the vessel.
  
  Then the day came the bloodsoaked auri and stained ship arrived in Limsa's port. Amara was immediately taken in by the Yellow Jackets, eventually being set free after giving a full account of the events on the ship.She had done it this was only a fraction of the land her father spoke about, eager to see more she geared herself setting about the land loaning her blade for gil.
  
  During her mercenary life she experienced both real combat but more than that. She held her Commander in very high regards. A tall bronze skinned hyur woman she was and fierce on the battlefield. Amara and her grew closer over the course of a few months. Over time their numbers grew to around one hundred banded together mercenaries all united under their commander, and three others including Amara. Two years passed as they roamed completing task and mission after another. Until they were approached by a group of concerned citizens around Aleport. They begged and pleaded for them to put a stop to some voidsent that had taken up residence on the isle of umbra nearby. Gladly accepting the job for twice the fee they readied their arms and armor, making their way to charter a ship to the isle.
  
  A small group of sailors agreed to give them passage to the isle for no charge, considering the elimination of voidsent to be more than enough to pay them back. The ride was boring and dull with a bleak grey overcasted sky above them. Amara decided to check in on her commander before they arrived. This led to a intense intimate moment between them as they set aside their warrior status and embraced each other as women and as lovers.
  
  A sudden thud, hollar was all that was needed to announce they had arrived at the isle. Unwilling to stay around the sailors headed to a safe distance in case anything went wrong. The group proceeded to search the isle eventually coming across the aforementioned voidsent but as well a strange robed man with a ornate red mask. First was silence as they crept up closer and once they were in range they stuck and struck fast. Catching most of the fouls creatures off guard the bloodshed began on both sides as steel and claw connected. The smell of freshly rended flesh driving some of the voidsent into a blood frenzy, causing them to grow in strength and size as they began ripping through the mercenaries. Seeing her commrades fall one after another Amara pressed forward charging as her personal unit of bowmen loosed their arrows striking the small targets dead. Due to her training on the Steppe and constant sparring with her brothers and sisters in arms Amara managed to slay the problematic voidsent berserkers.
  
  A lone chuckle sounded through the air as all the voidsent drew back revealing the strange man. He droned on about the futility of their struggle before, almost effortlessly summoning forth a horde of stronger voidsent mostly gargoyles, mind flayers, and multiple others. Amara and her commander watched on as they defended each other back to back as their numbers dwindled. Eventually only the top commanding four were left, seeing their grave situation the commander made a choice to retreat but was cornered at the top of a cliff overlooking the water. Again the strange man chuckled though much more sinister this time. Desperate to protect Amara she turned telling her to not to worry about them and go, get away and they will be there soon. Amara of course protested this as she heard two shrieks come from the other two survivors. Seeing no way out of this her commander pulled her in close planting a long deep kiss on her lips, uttering the words “I love you..” before tossing Amara over the edge and down into the water. As she fell Amara could only watch horrified as she was wore down by the creatures and finally impaled through the chest. Amara screamed as her eyes stung from her tears. Hitting the water hard with her back she slowly lost consciousness drifting under the water. As she heard a voice just on the near brink of drowning. “Hear feel think”. Her eyes slowly opened as they were stung by the bright sun, coarse desert earth underneath her. She stood up realizing that she was now in Central Thanalan, only her memory of how she got here was hazy. Still she knew if she had any hope of getting anywhere she needed work and so she made her way to Ul'dah to seek employment. Amara at several residents advice wandered into a place they had referred to as the quicksand, happening to overhear some patrons talk about a place called The Whispered Wish. She thought to herself for a while before fastening her katana back to her waist and heading for the ward of the residential that the
  establishment was in.
